Opinions on giving your baby juice?

No judgment I just have a question for the parents that gave juice to their babies when they were little my son is having a hard time using the bathroom and I don’t wanna keep putting a suppository in him although he is on lactulose I want to try apple juice with him. The doctors is closed today but any mom’s that have given their babies juice I would like the opinion.

How old is the baby? That’s what matters here

Just spoke to a pharmacist last weekend. He suggested pear juice, purple 100% grape juice, and prune juice. Also if the baby has started solids baby prunes and baby peaches. I started with 2 ounces pf juice in the morning and 2 at night. This was for a 5 1/2 month old. I had called to check if they had baby suppositories and he said try the dietary additional first!

Idk how old your baby is but gripe water use to help my son go to the bathroom also when he was old enough grape juice would also help.

Pear juice works good. Water it down a bit though

I don’t know age of your baby. But when my baby was constipated, I mixed a little bit of dark Karo syrup in her bottle (formula or breast milk, whichever you baby eats). It worked. My pediatrician recommended it.

A little Milk of Magnesia in the bottle. Do it with my grandbabies…Drs don’t recommend Karo syrup anymore

I use to first feed my baby’s then give her about 4 ounces of juice around lunch time for the same reason. The only reason my Dr didn’t like it is because if given before you feed them they can get full on the juice and not eat. Also how old is your baby? Tour can also try water with two teaspoons of sugar and will make them go

Try pear juice. It’s the easiest juice on baby’s stomach. Mix with water whatever juice you end up giving. Allen’s apple juice is good too. Again, mix with water.

Where are you located please? Do you know anyone who does reflexology? If so I am sure that person would be happy to show you how to massage the feet to get things moving again, and keep it moving. I am in Listowel Ontario Canada.

I did started at 6 months half juice half water. Thank at 1. Went full juice

Times & Dr recommendations differ a lot. There’s a lot missing here. How old is your baby? You said he’s on lactulose. So he’s lactose intolerant? Are you nursing or bottle feeding? If so is it lactose free formula? Or are you refraining from dairy if breastfeeding? Is he on solids ? If so are you giving him a lactose free diet? It sounds like he’s constipated a lot. Has the Dr done testing to why?

My oldest was constipated all the time as an infant. He’s 24. The Dr recommended 2 ounces of prune juice every so many hours. He’d also get a lot of diarrhea & diaper rashes. Dr never tested for milk allergy. Fast forward 12 years he’s still having stomach issues. My second, an infant, is having the same issues. Turns out to be milk allergy. I cut out dairy. He was a lot better. FF another 11 years his gf consumes dairy so he does too. He’s suffering bad with GIRD & other stomach discomforts. Like young people do he won’t listen to me (even though he agrees with me that his diet is why he’s having problems). So my advise to you is to find the reason. If your Dr won’t test for the cause find another Dr, then another if necessary. Go to a dietician too. That’s who figured out my daughters & coincidentally my son’s problem.

We were told to start with an ounce of pear juice 50% diluted. Does your pediatrician have an after hours nurse line maybe?

Prune juice is better , also you can put Karo sirup in the milk
