Opinions on IUD? I’m looking at having an ablation done but I was thinking of other options that might be a little more cost effective
I’m on my second mirena and absolutely love it
I have the Mirena and love it!
I love my Mirena. Definitely a bit uncomfortable going in, but two years later I have almost no periods and no complaints
I have very minor, petty complaints about my mirena. Overall I’m happy with it!
Why not get the nexplanon? I love mine!
I’ve had the Kylena IUD, and it caused me to become severely anemic. I had to have it removed ASAP. Then I had the copper IUD, and that made me bleed until we took it out.
Love my Mirena! No side effects and no period!
I have the Mirena and have no issues. No side effects and no period. Everyone’s bodies react differently.
I had the Mirena twice and loved it, had it the full 5 years and had no period. Got it out and had my son, the second one they placed during a c-section and it came out a couple weeks later on it’s own, so they replaced it and I was good for awhile, but it caused me to get cysts on my ovaries so I had to have it removed. I had an ablation last year because of super heavy bleeding for long periods of time after having my tubes removed. I am so HAPPY with it! My cycle went from 2+ weeks of heavy bleeding down to 1-2 days of super light periods, barely wear a liner!
Fyi nexplanon has the same hormones as the depo. It caused me to have endless period because of it. Mirenas hormones i had no period but would have pregnancy symptoms and put me on the floor cramps. I havent tried the copper IUD. I would be willing to try it as long as periods stop i would take the reported heavier bleeding as long as i got a break from the bleeding.
My aunt had an iud. It imbedded and robbed her from having more children. They went to remove it so she could begin ttc… and she ended up with a full hysterectomy.
My sister is on her second iud. The first one made her gain close to 100lbs.
I had a bad experience with the iud. They both made me bleed for the whole year I had them. The second one disappeared somehow. Doc was never able to find it after the scans we did.
I currently have the paragaurd and am scheduled to get it replaced with Skyla bc it causes me to spot non stop!! My obgyn told me that it’s common to bleed a lot more with it bc of the way it works, an inflammatory reaction that kills the sperm so your uterus is always on “standby” which is why I’m always bleeding…wouldn’t recommend (I’ve had it for 3 years)
Hurts like a mf when they insert it and the wires tips sometimes interfere with sex
