Paragard IUD side effects?

I plan on getting a birth control tomorrow at my Drs appointment. I was going to get Paragard (IUD) but turns out it’s not covered by my insurance. My other IUD options are Mirena, Skyla, Kyleena, and Liletta. I’m breastfeeding so I don’t want it to affect my breastmilk/supply. Just wanting opinions from someone who has had one and was breastfeeding with it. Thank you.

Also side effects to any of them?

I have mirena and I BF for 18 months. No side effects for me other than no period which is a pretty good one for me lol

I have Mirena and I am breastfeeding, no complications or complaints, very happy to have it.

They discontinued mirena here and replace it with liletta. That’s what I have and I love it!

I got the mirena in January and am still breastfeeding. I have no issues. Just spotted off and on for a while after it was inserted.

I have Kyleena! It is amazing haven’t had a period in a few months and doesn’t have a bunch of hormones infused into it. It works absolute wonders!

I have the mirena, used it after both children and it didn’t effect my supply at all with either one

I had mirena and had AWFUL side effects. I started acting crazy and got insanely depressed and angry. But no difference in breastfeeding.

I have Paraguard, to bad your insurance doesn’t cover it… I love that it has no hormones in it.

I breastfed on mirena for 18mos

Ask your doctor about breastfeeding with any of them. Every body is different so one could affect you different than it has affected someone else

I breastfed on Mirena. No issues and I loved it so much I just started on my 4th 5 year Mirena. The period free life is amazing.

I had the Skyla it was amazing but I gained 40lbs in 2.5 years so I had it removed

I use to have mirena but the military removed it due to case studies showing it causes bone issues in caucasian females. So just research all and see what is best for you.

Please don’t do it. There’s a ton of not mentioned side effects and a Lot a Doctors are reluctant to remove it because “Oh that so & So is completely unrelated…”

My short personal story- had last child, no pre-existing depression or anxiety. Got paragard. By month 3 I could hardly get out of bed and when I did to leave the house I became so irrationally and hysterically afraid of clouds. Mind you- I’m a landscape and sunset/sky photographer soooo… lol🤷🏼‍♀️ anyways, I felt I was totally going crazy and my husband was close to having me hospitalized. By month 5 I told my doc to take it out. The following morning I was almost back to normal and even went grocery shopping by myself which I hadn’t been able to do in months.

I do hope you find something that works for you💜

I just got the paraguard and also breastfeeding but at my appointment my doctor said that Mirena would not affect the milk supply

See if you can get nexplanon. I love it. I don’t get my period and haven’t had any issues with it the last 2 times I’ve had it. I was going to breastfeed when I had my daughter and was told I could with nexplanon but unfortunately I couldn’t produce enough.

Had to get mine removed at the ER because my body took it as a foreign toxic object in my body. I now track my period and ovulation through the eve app and use natural condoms. Plus, if your solely breastfeeding that in itself is birth control. You might want to consider safer options besides taking pharmecueticals that disrupt your body chemistry and hormonal balance.

Can you not get a non hormonal IUD for free?
