You could do either. When my friend was potty training her son she set alarms throughout the night to wake him up and see if he had to use the bathroom. For my daughter I put her in pull ups then when she about 3 she stopped peeing in her sleep on her own then she just wore underwear full time.
have her go potty before bed time and no more water
Make sure she goes potty before bed. Maybe try giving less water for throughout the night. Encourage her if she wakes up to take a drink to go potty.
also use the “big girl” term a lot.
Could try saying something as simple as oops I forgot to buy more pull-ups
Set an alarm and wake her up to go potty
Pull up or daiper…she is only 2
She’s 2, I wouldn’t worry about night time yet. All 4 of mine wore a pull up at night till they were a little over 3, they were potty trained at 2.
Stop the water in bed. When potty training, they should have their last drink around 2 hours before bed time, with several bathroom trips in between the last drink and bed time. Something I did with my daughter when she was potty training, about the same age, was stop the drinks at 7pm, multiple potty trips, including one on the way to bed. Once she was consistently dry through the day for about a week, I put her to bed in underwear. She peed the bed one time and that was it.
My 2 yr old is potty trained also, she usually has a drink at bed time also, she gets herself up to go if she needs to, all kids are different though, so just try without and see what she does… then u will see how u need to approach it, less drink, waking her up, or just using a pull up for a bit longer…
You’ll have to take the water. an have her use the bathroom before bed. then wake up at night to take her to the bathroom.
When my daughter started I put a pullup at night. I would have her pee before bed remind her if she has to pee to go to potty. Once she was dry throughout the night the pullup came off, took about a week.
At 2 mine was the same way. We did pull-ups at night. We were later told (by her pediatrician and dentist) that nighttime drinks should technically stop at 1🥴 so that may have contributed a bit.
She’s two. Pull ups. When she wakes up dry in the morning a few times you’ll know it’s time to switch. Two different parts of the brain deal with peeing during the day vs at night.
