Pros and cons of getting your tubes out?

I am due to have my third baby in about 5 weeks . Me and my boyfriend have been talking about me just getting my tubes tied, because I’m having a planned c section but I’m not sure I’m still on the fence. What are the pros and the cons of getting them tired?

No difference. Had them removed 7 yrs ago during a c section. I wish I removed all my parts to be honest. Getting older definitely sucks

Makes your periods heavier and more painful in some women

I had mine done during the C-section, since they were in there anyway. Best decision. Birth control was such a pain. I had two biological kids had my tubes tied and later, I adopted two sisters out of foster care.

It’s not a problem at all. I had tubes tied in 1987 after my 5th. It was considered a new procedure at the time

Had mine removed during my c section just over a year ago. Biggest regret ever. Periods used to be uneventful for me, now they are painful and heavy to the point I want to call in on the first 2 days. And I don’t even have a low pain tolerance.

I used to have very light periods and no cramping. Since having my tubes removed its been severe cramping, heavy terrible periods. If I would have known how my body was gonna react I probably would of had a hysterectomy instead.

Had mine removed 7 years ago in my 3rd and last c-section. The recovering was worse. Felt like I was burning on the inside. But once I recovered, it’s not too bad.my periods are a bit more painful and definitely more heavy. But ill take that knowing I can’t have another baby lol I love my kids but I know I couldn’t do another. No other issues other than that

I had mine done 7.5 years ago done during my fourth C-section. Only issue I’ve had is my periods are a bit heavier on day one and two then lightens up day three and four so forth. Best decision I ever made. My body rejected two different iuds and the pill made me crazy and hormonal.

Pros - no more babies
Cons - made my periods worse

I had mine done when I had my csection 6 yrs ago I have no regrets. it made my periods lighter but inconsistent…my mom had hers done after 5 kids and didn’t have any changes…the final decision was that I was done and didn’t matter to me what the consequences or outcomes were

I told my husband when we had our last baby if he got fixed, I’d get fixed ,he wouldn’t so i didn’t.

Had 3 high risk pregnancies and had a tubal ligation done 2 years ago… it made my periods heavier but that could also of happened after childbirth. No other issues. According to my ob it does have the benefit of reducing your risk of getting ovarian cancer if your tubes are removed. I have no worries of an ops pregnancy and with the way things have gone limiting women’s choice of abortion regardless of if your for or against it even for medical reasons it’s a piece of mind knowing I won’t ever have to worry about it.

I had it done 2.5 yrs ago during my csection with my 3rd baby. Period is a little bit heavier and lasts 6 to 7 days instead of the 4 days it use to be. But I can’t do anymore kids. No regrets here. Hated the 2 IUDs I’ve had before and I can not have hormonal birth control.

Pros no babies. No need for hormonal birth control. No babies no fear of pregnancy.
Cons you still need to wear condoms if ur practicing safe sex with a new partner. Your gov may be pissed off you took them out.

What if YOUR HUSBAND wants one?

I had mine down. While I stand by my decision the after part is still going crazy and I had them done in May of 21. My periods are awful, I’ve been getting really bad migraines with them that last 3 days. I bleed for a week than stop than her recently I’ll spot a week later. I got tomorrow to try to get it all figured out. But everyone is different. Good luck

Check into uterine ablation. It stops your periods and no way to carry a baby.

My thing is you say boyfriend so I’ma say you should wait because if you get married you’re husband might want more

I think if you’re on the fence about it, don’t do it yet.

Never ever regretted having mine done
