Hey mama’s I need a little help my 5 year old is going in to kindergarten this coming year and his school district put him in a year round school i need to know the pros and cons of it before calling the school district to getting it changed.
The school obviously gets paid more for having year round students so that’s their benefit. Being forced into hear round school has no benefits for a kid and would only be detrimental
How does that work? Is the summer vacation spaced out into longer breaks throughout the year? My kids went to schools that had year-round programs but the summer months were fun camp. Year round school does prevent learning loss and probably helps out working parents. Where do you live where this is an option?
I’ve never had a child in year round schools. The idea sounds cool to me. I’m homeschooling now & will do it all year. They get days off here & there that kids in school don’t get.
My daughter is in year round kindergarten. She gets 2 months off for the summer then every 10 weeks of school she gets 2 weeks off. It’s not bad. The school district kind of helps arrange for childcare the first week off (at least our district). I don’t really see any pro or con to it. It’s the same amount of schooling just broken up a little bit more.
