Not really a question you normally would see on here, but I’m looking for some food recipes help. I pregnant with baby #2, and I’m due in October. My 1st baby will be a month from turning 2 when the baby gets here. So I’m trying to expand my cooking range, especially when it comes to the crockpot. I’ve looked on Pinterest and the internet, all I seem to find is recipes that you have a lot of stuff to add or something that you have to stand over to cook. I’m looking for something I can throw on and check on every now and then and stuff that don’t call for a lot of stuff. Thanks!
Shredded beef or shredded pork tacos! I cook the meat seasoned how ever we like in the crock pot all day then use soft taco shells and put what ever toppings you want on them. My favorite is pico de gallo and feta cheese. My husband like queso on his. I also throw pork chops in there. Make beef vegetable soup. Pork tenderloin. I love my crock pot so much!
Mississippi pot roast
There are some crockpot groups on fb that I have found make sure when u do searches u do like quick easy dinners or crockpot recipes maybe look into a pressure cooker as a mom my pressure cooker is my best friend
You need an instant pot! I use mine several times a week and use recipes from Pinterest. Most things don’t take more than 5-6 ingredients. My go to recipe is chicken breasts with taco seasoning, then while I shred the chicken I make Mexican rice-a-roni. Mix it together and it’s good by itself OR use for burritos.
Chicken taco bowls in the crockpot
Bbq Pulled pork or chicken sandwiches
Buffalo chicken sandwiches
Salsa chicken. (Literally just salsa and chicken and taco seasoning)
Cheesy salsa shredded chicken. I put half a jar of salsa and chicken breast in. Let it cool low 8 hrs or high 4. Then I put in shredded cheese and cooked rice. Mix up and melt. Yummy
I usually just Chuck a bunch of crap in and hope for the best. Never once have I used. Recipe for my slow cooker. Just put what ever in, put some stock or sauces in with it, Chuck is on low and let it cook all day.
Chicken breast packet of taco seasoning and a jar of salsa
Brown chicken or beef tips, add to heated crock pot in a tad of water or oil. Once it is cooking, add chopped onions, cream of mushroom soupand a cup of water., cut up potstoes, carrots, green pess , some worcestershire sauce for flavor. Let this simmer for HOURS. Other seasonings help to make a great dinner, but keep them simple for little one.I don’t add salt because the soup will have salt, as well as worcestershire sauce. Even tomatoes will be good in it, especially with the beef. …You could cook the potatoes a little ahead of time to soften them a little, but I don’t. I make meatloaf in bulk, then cut into slices, put in sandwiches bags individually, and freeze. Then take them out ss you want to use them. Cook green beans snd let little one pick up beans and eat one at a time Also, cook chicken in small pieces and bag those, as well. Freeze. You can take them out and add rice, carrots, peas, onion, and, maybe even a little cheese, ( not much)… Another thing thst is fun and easy is to make little om welettes in large muffin Pans. You can keep them in baggies in frig snd eat cold or heat up. Add egg, milk, cheese, and meat, and vege, mix togeher and pour into muffin psns. Cook at 375 u til skewer or fork comes out of center of egg clean.
Two packets of brown gravy, one au jus packet, 3 cups water for 3-4 pounds. You can use good stuff or cheap beef, just the better it is, the less time it takes. I’ll do stew beef but 8-10 hours while I’m at work. Best beef you’ve ever had, so easy.
Congrats!
I do chicken and cheese rice in crockpot. Real simple. Or I do chicken and dumplings or chicken and noodles in crockpot. All real simple.
I just found a recipe for pork chops with cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup and onion soup mix. Making it with rice for dinner tomorrow.
In summer for birthday parties I always get pork shoulder and cook it with bbq and shred it for bbq pork sandwiches. Super easy and great if you need to feed a bunch of people
Also Hawaiian bbq chicken. Chicken (we use breasts but you could use thighs) a can of crushed pinapple and bbq sauce (I use sweet or tangy)
I always prep everything the night before cuz I leave early for work so in the morning I just take it out of the fridge plug in the crock pot and it’s good to cook
My crock pot is my life. Especially with a 6yo in gym and cheer, 2 yo in dance, husband works weird hours and a baby coming in September
Meatloaf, Hawaiian meatballs over rice or ramen, lasagna, chicken anything (literally), breakfast bakes (who doesn’t love breakfast), chili.
Seriously though, darn near anything you put in the oven can be done in the crockpot. No joke. So find any recipe you like. Most end up being 4-6hrs on high or 6-8 on low. If you’re home, just check them and write down your recipe and time it cooked for in a dollar store notebook. If it’s a family favorite, keep it. If they hate it, tear it out and throw it away. Best of luck mama!
They’re a recipe for honey garlic chicken in the crockpot that’s awesome. It’s chicken thighs or breast with honey garlic soy sauce, parsley.
