Would you recommend tamiflu for a 2 week old? He was only tested because his older brothers came back positive for it. He is just slightly more congested than his normal self. No fever. His ped recomended it but I am unsure…
It almost killed my grandson
Ughhh no when baby had it the pediatrician said humidifier
Express your concerns with your medical provider. Personally I wouldn’t, and my medical providers have always presented tamiflu and then kind of said it wasn’t really worth it anyway, so we never took it.
But I urge you to speak with professionals.
My daughter broke out in hives
I’ve taken care of more patients with complications from Tamiflu than the actual flu and I’m in emergency medicine
I wouldn’t give that crap to my 7 year old let alone a baby. Please don’t.
No, the possible side effects are crazy
There’s a lot of negative side effects. I would honestly ask the doctor to put them on something else. I’ve seen some scary stories about the hallucinations and there’s many more
Please do not seek the advice of strangers! Consult other doctors for a second opinion.
If you’re feeling unsure, don’t give it, regardless if an MD prescribed it.
My 3 year old and I had the flu at the same time. ER doc said I could take it but absolutely not a child. He just had to go through the motions and let his immune system do it’s job. I’m sure that’s harder with a newborn than a 3 year old but I wouldn’t take the chance. Maybe get a second opinion from a doctor who knows what they’re talking about.
Absolutely NOT! To many crazy side affects. They tried to give it to my 7Y/o and I refused!
No!!! Call your pediatrician!!!
Your pediatrician recommended tamiflu for a two week old?!?! You need a new dr asap.
It’s not even good for older kids or adults much less a two week old. Holy
These are conversations you need to have with your doctor for all we know your child has underlying conditions that would make the flu more dangerous than the Tamiflu… there’s a lot of variables for strangers to try to tell you what to do🥴
I’ve been seeing so many people ask this in the past year, all were told by their Drs for their babies under 6 months. I have no idea wtf it even is, but if it’s so bad then why do Drs keep recommending it to these parents for their infants? I wouldn’t regardless, lol. Cause imo that’s too young for cold meds.
I definitely would not! A doctor told me he would never recommend Tami flu for a child
Talk to a new pediatrician
Tamiflu made my dad so, so sick. After seeing that, it’s a huge no for me!
A 2 week absolutely not. I’d be Looking for a new doctor
No it’s medicine for a adult not a baby or child
Two WEEKS old?! Absolutely not
