I have a 4 month old daughter who has met all of her milestones BUT being able to raise her head during tummy time. I also notice sometimes when I hold her, she holds her head down and doesn’t want to raise it up. I sometimes try to push her head back and she resists me doing it. When should I be worried and when should I talk to her doctor about it! Thanks in advance!
Yes she should be holding her head up at least some
I’d talk to your health visitor. Was she born early ?
Take her to a chiropractor, probably something out of place from birth, many people do this
Then let us know if it helped
Your pediatrician will have your answers
Definitely let her doctor know. She should be able to hold her head up, at least for short amounts of time, by now. Mine turns 5 months tomorrow and has been holding her head up since around 2½-3 months. Albeit, she was wobbly, but she was doing it. Yours may just be delayed for some reason, but definitely inform her doctor. Don’t wait. If she needs it, early intervention can make all the difference in some cases!
My 2nd didn’t sit up unaided until 8m, crawled at 11month. Never smiled until around 4/5month, I thought she just didnt like us I told HV there was something wrong. Shes under physio, occupational therapy, did speech therapy and being spectrum assessed, she has tightness in one side of her neck which restricted her head movement when younger, Shes 3 and thriving though, just your normal typical 3yo, our little angry bird. I’d let your HV know so they can advise you on what you can do to help or if babe needs a little physio to help. My 3rd born was 5wk old lifting his head looking round a room!! All babies are different, some are delayed, some are very quick, Don’t worry yourself
Prayers for your daughter she’s now deliverd in Jesus mighty name
