Should I be worried about measuring big?

I am 33 weeks pregnant however my doctors are measuring me at 36 weeks. Has this happened to anybody else? They aren’t moving my due date up. Just wondering if this is normal or if this is something I should be concerned about.

I started measuring 3 weeks ahead and it eventually got to where I was measuring 4 weeks ahead by 38 weeks. I was diagnosed with polyhydramnios which is excessive amniotic fluid. This picture was the night before I went in to be induced at 39 weeks with just one baby weighing a little over 8lbs.

I was measuring big too, or at least my son was. My last ultrasound they said he’d be close to 11 lbs. when he was born he was 8 lbs at 39 weeks. they are not always accurate with the measurements. They’ll monitor baby for size, but there isn’t anything to worry about!!

I measured 2-3 weeks ahead with both of my pregnancies. Only one was a big baby (my 2nd, 9lbs even at birth), sometimes you just measure big. Unless your doctor is showing concern, it’s not a big deal. They don’t usually worry much about measuring ahead, it’s measuring behind that causes them to worry.

I told them to stop measuring when I started measuring 44 at 35 weeks :joy: Baby was 8 lb 11 and born at 39 weeks. An old-style midwife can usually tell you how big your baby will be (everyone was saying over 10lbs but she insisted it wasn’t more than a nine pounder). If it’s getting a bit big they might decide to induce you at 38 weeks but I had no problems other than being huge.

My first son was over due they called said he was cooked because he came out so flaky :joy: that kid had me in labor for over 24 hours epidural was not working the worst labor but my second was just 6 hours and I asked the nurse to let me take a nap when I dilated because they epidural was amazing had me numb couldn’t feel a thing

When I kept being told I was measuring small with my previous pregnancies, I asked one midwife how they measure the baby and she told me it’s like measuring something inside a balloon! So very inaccurate, they also measured my daughter 5lbs 14oz and she was born weighing 6lbs 14oz
I wouldn’t worry too much aslong as everything is all good

The length of you torso has a lot to do with your belly size. I have a super long torso so I measure small.
2 weeks before due date.

I’m measuring two weeks ahead. I’m also a small person but my kids have been tall and in the 90th percentile for height. It’s nothing to be concerned about just a bigger baby or in the end could be nothing. Either way nothing to worry about

I was measuring big with my oldest the Dr said he would be 10lb+ he came out 5lb 10oz ans so tiny he wore preemie clothes for a month I would not be too concerned

I am 36 weeks measuring 41 weeks:upside_down_face::upside_down_face: I am projected to have a giant baby though. Sometimes its just a large baby and sometimes you just measure larger for the heck of it

I measured 3-4 weeks ahead and had gestational diabetes. They took my daughter at 37 weeks she was 8lbs 6ozs. I also had pre eclampsia issues

I used to do ultrasound. At the end of pregnancy it is hard to get accurate measurements. This is normal!

I was too my baby was born at 40 weeks 3 days she was 9lbs 10oz I just had a big baby

I was measuring 3 weeks ahead and my son was 2 days over due  weighing 8lbs few oz and 20 3/4 in or so.

They induced me two weeks early and I had a 10 pound baby

Nah I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I measured big with my second child, had her at 38 weeks (c-section) and she ended up only being 5lbs 9oz lol. Just pack your hospital bag a little early just in case.

It could also be water weight. That was case w my last two. They were peanuts. Everyone swore I was having big babies. Nurse said I had a TON of water lol

I think they would have told you if it was at your appt and what it all means

Just means your having a big baby

Did you ask your doctor? Did your doctor act concerned?
