My kids were sick earlier this week. They still have cough and runny nose, no fevers anymore, but overall better. My husband tested positive for strep this morning. Do you think I should take kiddos to get tested for strep? Or do you think unnecessary at this point.
I would take them. Untreated strep can become Scarlet Fever in a week or so. Just went through it with my daughter a while back.
I won’t have my kids tested because it was so traumatic for my oldest… she was afraid of going to the doctor for years afterward! Sooo I have a conversation with the doctor at sick visits and if there’s a reasonable suspicion of strep, they’ve been willing to treat her for it without the test.
If they’re better, then I personally wouldn’t take them in… if they’re still sick and unwell, then yes, take them in to be checked over. Test? Meh.
If they are better, then no.
