but should I reschedule my pap smear if I’m on my period or do they even care?

My OB said if its light then they don’t mind but if heavy then best to reschedule.

Call and ask. Mine did not care, they only cared if I cared lol.

yes. my gym actually schedules around the period on purpose. she won’t even book without knowing your cycle

I get check ups at the birthing center with midwives. They don’t care, just run the risk of not getting enough cells or something like that and may need to repeat it.

Majority of them do not care at all.

It’s not that they care about your period but your period can affect the results. My gyno says to not go on your period because of that

Nope lol I remember one time it was hard for me to get the appointment Indian clinic took months finally had my appointment called them and said I need to reschedule they asked why told them I’m on my period they said girl no it’s OK we are use to it they made me so comfortable about it and I didn’t want to wait months again. Girl honestly they don’t care about all that it happens but if your uncomfortable then reschedule

Yes I went 3 different different times when I had dysfunctional bleeding and they couldn’t get a good reading I am supposed to schedule a another appointment but I have kidney stones and I have to have a endoscopy at the end of the month.

According to recent information, you are less likely to get an accurate result so it’s a waste of time. The best time is mid cycle.

It is best to reschedule as it is highly likely they won’t get enough cells, comes back abnormal, or unable to read at all due to blood. If you have other things to discuss then keep appointment and reschedule pap

If it’s not bad and it’s light then you’re fine if you’re super heavy reschedule. I had mine done while I was on my period :woman_shrugging:t2:
