Whats everyones opinion on fluoride treatments at the dentist for your kiddos?
I dont want my kids exposed to more than toxic levels of something especially when the risks/side effects far outweigh the benefits in a much more detrimental way…
Ive done quite a bit of research on this and high levels of fluoride have been know to cause increased risk of several types of cancers, loss of bone density, lower IQ, worsen tooth decay (with continued exposure), malfunctions within thyroid glands, increased hyperactivity and lethargy as well as several other issues.
It just doesnt seem worth it to me, especially considering my kiddos have no oral hygiene complications(cavities, gum disease, halitosis…)
Im curious about other moms thoughts though!

Lmao at everyone using fluoride free paste and such… Using bottled spring non fluoride water is more important to me than the fluoride treatment at the dentist. They shouldn’t be able to put fluoride in,our drinking water. It’s illegal in most of Europe. Sucks it’s legal and they do it here. But unless you control the water your kid drinks it doesn’t Matterhorn

My kids get their fluoride treatment.
We dont do flouride. There is enough already available naturally that i dont think its necessary to add more.
I always let the EXPERT decide

All my kids get theres done once a year. And everytime they cut new molars, those get a sealant.
Could depend on the area but at one point they put so much floride in the water that dentists stopped doing them. Not sure what every happend with that
Make sure your kid doesn’t have weak enamel. I went fluoride free to begin with. My son had his teeth for 1 year and had major issues that may have been prevented or reduced had I gone with fluoride off the bat. His teeth grew in with weak emamel. Even though I agree fluoride has side effects I had no choice due to his enamel problem. Since using fluoride we have had an incredible amount of success. I would recommend if you haven’t, speaking to the dentist and making sure your kid has strong enamel. The dentist can also recommend other things like foods to avoid and brushing habits to help as well no matter what you decide.
Do you really think they would put toxic levels of fluoride on your kids teeth? Do you really think they would purposely poison your kids?
It doesn’t matter anyway. They’re going to lose them.
We do the paint on type every 6 month for our kiddos. No side effects to date
