Should my daughter wear deodorant?

My five year old daughter has started to develop BO after school. She usually showers daily, or atleast every other day. Does this mean puberty is coming ? Is this a normal age to start it? Should she wear deodorant?

My daughter is 7 has overactive adrenal gland. Her armpit glands are “matured” even tho nothing else about her body is yet. Her doctor has told me since age 4 to put deodorant on her just make sure it’s aluminum free

I would have her wear deodorant. Antiperspirant/deodorant. U don’t want others making fun.

If shes going around with BO regardless of age then yes she should wear deo!

not sure about puberty and all that but if she’s got PO, of course she needs to wear deodorant

just BO might not be puberty. her shoes might stink soon too, use foot powder in them.
she may be one of the girls to start puberty earlier than other girls too, like 8 or 9

Talk to doctor first. It can be anything from diet to medical or nothing at all. If you are going to use deodorant, find a natural one if you can, she’s so very young.

She needs to go to the doctor to rule out precocious puberty.

I would let her wear it
A lot of kids have B.O even babies

Change her diet and take her to a doctor

Some kids develop body odor before the usual age of puberty. Talk to the doctor if your child has body odor and is younger than 7 or 8 years (for a girl) or 9 years (for a boy). The doctor can check for signs of puberty starting early, which sometimes needs treatment with medicine.

Buy aluminum free. The other cause breast cancer

Some kids body are different from others my daughter was ten when she had her period, don’t treat it like a disease

Smell her breath. Does it smell fruity or maybe like fingernail polish remover? Is she drinking a lot? It could be a sign diabetes.

My little girl likes to use Native deodorant or Lume

Instead of deodorant, rub apple cider vinegar under her pits. The bottle with “the mother” in it is best.

Yep. My 7 year old has been wearing it for about 2 years now. She uses Toms.

I use Lumi on my 7 year old. I put it on the armpits and the feet

Apparently, a lot of kids have bo however deodorant helps my daughter has been wearing it for a year now. It happens

My kids started on aluminum free at that close to that age.

You may want to check for yeast overgrowth also

My 6 yr old puts some on everytime she she’s me do it. It’s good to start a routine and you can get metal free deodorants

If she put on deodorant at a young age it starts

Yes why is that a question

They have lines of aluminum free deodarants/antiperspirants. I let my kid use them.

My 9 and 10 year old both wear deodorant, but talk with your child about hygiene and when they are in the shower to make sure they are washing their arm pits
If it gets really bad you can use an antibacterial soap, because the bacteria is what causes the smell.

It’s a good start to practice basic hygiene. Do it!

I would get a natural aluminum free based deodorant with her being so little. But other than that go for it.

Shower every night plus a deodorant like Lume. I would check with the ped or see an endocrinologist to make sure there are no hormone issues.

Antibacterial soap and a more frequent bathing…

Definitely if she smells. At five I would stay clear of antiperspirants with aluminum. She could also use lemon juice and water as alternative.

Would u wear it if u were stinking? :100:

If you want a child with self esteem and body issues, tell them they stink and need to mask themselves at the age of 5. It’s easy to mess up their mental health and this is a great way to start the process.

Try having her use witch hazel.instead

Many girls are starting puberty at young ages, my friend’s daughter started her periods at the age of 6. I have read this is happening because of growth hormones added to cattle, pigs, and chickens. Make sure you get her aluminum free deodorant, aluminum in deodorant has been linked to cancer. There are tests they can run to see if she is entering puberty.

Cut down her milk if she drinks a lot (hormones in the milk) my doctor’s advice

If they stink yes. Wear deodorant. They have natural versions too without harmful chemicals.
Also it’s probably the milk

My twin daughters who just turned 9 have been wearing deodorant for about 3 years now because they smell like grown men without it. It completely normal. I actually took them to the Dr and early puberty is normal for some girls. Now worries momma…

My 5 year old son uses Lume. If they stink, they stink. No harm in using it. Lots of harm to those around you if she doesn’t

Talk to her doctor. You want to make sure she isn’t starting puberty too young. I had the same issue with one of my children and needed to see an endocrinologist.

If your child has Bo you can put deodorant on her

let ur kid stink will give ur family a good name

Do you help her shower and wash…or does she just wash her self…not being rude but at the age of 5 they don’t really do a good job maybe she’s not asking for help because she wants to be grown up

There may be something going on internally like stuff in her diet that doesn’t need to be there. For my cheap sugar causes horrible bo. I eat organic sugar with no issues.
Could possibly be a parasite issue or just poor gut health.

Doesn’t mean puberty this young. My daughter is 5 also and has had bo for over 2 years now. Her dr is just now sending her to an endocrinologist cause she has more than one sign of puberty… she’s bigger in the chest than most kids her age and the one I freaked out the most about is my 5 year has armpit hair. I think I cried when I seen it but her dr said to leave it until the endocrinologist sees it.

That is not the norm for a 5yr old. I’d talk to her pediatrician & watch her diet.
I would do an aluminum free deodorant though. Kids have enough to deal with w/o worrying about that

My 6 yr old daughter has been wearing it for about 6 months to a year now as she gets a bit smelly & I didn’t want her to get bullied at school for it.

Look at information on how what we eat can make us have B.O. Processed food is the worse.
