Well just to inform you. Every penny he pays, it be deducted out of your ssi. I learned this the hard way and owe ssi over 3,000$.

I get disability and my daughter gets 300 from it and her dad still has to pay child support 300$.it is also his responsibility to pay for the child he created. He is just being a piece of shit and doesn’t want to have responsibility.
Make sure to report to the courts that he is 21k behind.
If court order him to pay you. Well you have to take hom back to court so you can have him pay the office of child support. That way he’ll be force to pay & back pymts & no pay-JAIL TIME. But if order to pay you. He wont & law cant do nothing. Unless you go back to court. You should of also leave case open.
He needs to pay you! Dead beat dad!! Doesn’t matter if your child is 18+. BACK CHILD SUPPORT. If you were not together? You took care of your child! He needs to pay you! You need legal advice!

Hell yes he should , why isn’t he in jail for that much back child support ? I’d make sure he got there tho
He still needs to pay. He was responsible for paying that when your child was a minor and didn’t, he stuck you with the expenses… so he owes YOU for his share of backpay.
He should pay. But check with your state. I think if he does pay it gets deducted out of SSI. Does SSI know there is an open child support case? If not they need to, its is a type of income source they need to know about.
He should pay still especially if he’s behind

The system is a joke when it comes to child support. The parent ordered to pay doesn’t and you go to court and they get a slap on the hand and ordered to pay up which they don’t. This goes on for years until the child reaches adult age and then the court no longer gets involved. It’s a vicious circle. Good luck trying to get it.
Mine was ordered to pay $0 a month due to SS. But they did put on $75 a month towards backpay.

His child support doesn’t depend on the money you have coming into your home. He is still responsible for his support to his child!
In my state if your child gets social security, you won’t get child support. My kids step dad gets social security, because some are his step kids they also get it bc of how long we’ve been married. The court told my ex that he was no longer financially responsible because of the social security. That’s bs!!!

Sorry, but, all you are entitled to is the back support. Do everything you can to collect that, and , invest it for your son. If your son is now a legal adult, then you are NOT entitled to support.
Talk to the CSB agency. There are other funds you can receive.
What you make has nothing to do with him still needing to support a child he created just cause cause you get SSI be is still entitled to pay child support.

He still has an obligation for child support and since he is in the rears that really doesnt even lay with you the collections will take over and you son still is legally able to receive it
My ex very Rarely paid his support got on ssi they took what my 2 children recieved and deducted it from his arrears dollar for dollar he was cleared from paying support including arrears when my oldest was 27…he also went to court on 2 occasions to have his support lowered SAD
