I’m a working mom, so while I was on maternity leave, I pumped enough for a small deep freezer full of breast milk and colostrum. The other day, I noticed that the deep freezer was left cracked open, and the milk inside was cold but unthawed. Should I throw the milk away? I will be losing basically all of my stored breast milk supply, but I also don’t want her to get sick.
Def throw it out. I am sorry mama
As long as there was still “ice crystals” in the milk, it’s okay to refreeze. If it’s %100 percent thawed you can’t use it for food, but could do milk baths, which are really good for babies skin
If it is totally thawed. U can still keep it. U can freeze some bags and mark them for skin care for rashes, sunburn, literally anything u can think of breast milk is good for… ear infections and everything…
It depends, if it is fully thawed and still cold it is only good in the refrigerator for about 24 hours. If it still has some icy-ness to it, you can refreeze it.
If there are ice crystals, it can be re frozen.
If there aren’t any ice crystals, then use it for something else, like a milk bath. But don’t just dump it out.
You can make bath soap out of it.
You’re from the Midwest aren’t you. LOL. We’re the only ones who say “unthaw”
If no ice crystals, pour it on your tomato plants, they love calcium.
What wont kill you will make you stronger and thawed breast milk wont kill anyone.

Feed that baby. That milk is not bad. It’s probably better than most milk from the grocery store or the dads nipples
