Side effects of Nexplanon?

so I have Nexplanon. It was put in June 2017 6 weeks after my daughter was born. At first I had periods every other week…so twice a month full blown periods and this went on several months. I was put on bc pills to help straighten it out. After a week on the pills having absolutely awful headaches they told me to stop the pill. After that week I was fine. Period once a month like clockwork. Been that way for over a year now. Well June 8th I had a period and after that period I had discharge…like ovulation discharge. My last period was July 6th. Yesterday and today I am spotting…a very scant amount about 3 separate times so far. I have never had spotting in between. Normally if I see any blood I start. My next period is due August 3rd.
I’m concerned that the Nexplanon is not working properly anymore. Should I wait and see what happens or should I call the Dr’s office and tell them? I don’t want to jump the gun but this spotting is weird for me. :woman_shrugging:

My nexplanon stopped working about 1.5 years into it.

Nexplanon has given me the most irregular periods ever… It’s the number 1 side effect… I wouldn’t worry but ask your doctor if you want

Call your doctor. Any concerns should be brought up that way they know what’s going on.

Same irregular periods and spotting here n thre. Ive had nexplanon for three yrs now

I had mine put in October 2017. First I had my period for about 2 months straight, then it was normal, and now it’s every few months I get it. I’m going on my 2nd month without a period. My obgyn said it’s normal and it’s also normal for my period to stop completely while on nexplannon.

I got mine Feb 2017, 6 weeks after my son was born. I struggled with spotting and have to take a birth control pill on top of the nexplannon to control the bleeding. I had to change birth controls three times before I found the perfect match for my body. I do randomly spot sometimes and it freaks me out but my doctor assured me it’s just a hormone imbalance.

I’ve been on nexpalnon for 4 years. I love it. I used to get my period once every 4 months. This time around I haven’t had any
