Small baby 33 weeks pregnant scan

Has anyone had a scan that showed the baby being small at 33wks and had to get a high def scan done and everything being fine? Dr is saying she is in the 5th percent tile and weighing only 3lbs and some odd oz so he is having me go to a bigger hospital to have a high def scan. I have always had small babies and this is my 4th and last but never had to do this before so I’m obviously freaking out.

I was measuring small throughout my entire pregnancy. Towards the end I was in hospital having scans every 2 weeks and having the baby heart monitor ECG once a week. I hardly had a bump , I was induced at 37 weeks and my daughter turned out to be 5 pound 11 ounces. x

Me. In fact dr told me my baby stopped developing and I would likely miscarry. He recommended an abortion. Naturally I was devastated. Well. He was born on his due date , weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces and very healthy.

Doctor may be just doing it as a precaution.

My son was born at 32.5 due to pre eclampsia and only weighed 3.7 lbs. He’s almost 9 months and weighs 14.5lbs. He is perfect. Towards the end I was having scans and stress test weekly.

I delivered ny son at 33weeks and he weighed 3lbs 11oz (ultrasound the night before said he was almost 6lbs) and they said he was big for being born that early. & if i wouldve made it full term he wouldve been at least 9lbs.

I was 3lbs 7ozs at birth. :green_heart:
I’ve lived an active full life.
Stay positive momma!

My daughter was born under 6 pounds, a week late and fully developed and healthy.

the last month babies gain weight more than anything…so at 33 weeks at 3 ibs i wouldnt worry too much…and the high def shows more than a normal scan and bigger hospitals could have newer equipment as well

My sister was told she had a small baby and he was born perfectly fine just over 6 lb. She was also told her first daughter 10 years ago was possibly going to have dwarfism because she measured small to. And she was also born completely normal… Doctors are not always right.

Sometimes there weights r off…its probably just a precaution

My daughter was measuring right on track until around 30 weeks and then somewhere between my 30 and 35 week growth scans she stopped growing as she should I had weekly scans from there on out and twice-weekly non-stress tests… they suspected I had a small placenta so basically she was getting everything she needed from my placenta to grow at a normal rate and then she outgrew my placenta and then it can only give her what it needed to sustain her rather than what she needed to grow more… between 36 and 38 weeks she should have gains around two and a half pounds and she only gained 5 ounces so they scheduled induction at 39 weeks but she came on her own at 38 weeks and 6 days… she was 5 lbs 15 oz and then after the swelling went down and she was 5 lb 7 oz. But super healthy otherwise and she remains small in the first and then in the 5th percentile until she was about five or six months and then she jumped to the 23rd percentile. She’s just over two years old right now and 27 lb in the 24th percentile

Yes they induced me at 36 weeks because she wasn’t growing. She came out at 4lbs 10oz but healthy as can be.

Babies gain weight like crazy in the last few weeks. It will be fine. Good luck.

I was 31+6 Monday at 3lb 6oz and 7th percentile.
