The roof of my mouth is hurting from my birth control...advice?

Not kid related. My doctor started me on a new birth control pill and I’ve been taken it for a week an half now but about 3 days in the roof my my mouth started hurting. I googled side effects of it and this was one of them. I’m just wondering if any other moms have experience this n if so is there anything to help with it. I’m only trying this birth control for 6 weeks to try getting my Skyla iud back in line cause I was having non stop periods.

When first getting an iud it’s normal to bleed off and on. I bled like that for about the first 3 months with my mirena. Had horrible cramps. Eventually it regulated itself and then my periods were really light and then quit having them until I had to get a new iud. As for the other birth control I’m not sure.

I’ve had allergic reactions to food where this happens. Definitely talk to your Dr - don’t keep taking this

I don’t think it’s likely that birth control is actually the cause of the roof of your mouth hurting. It’s more likely that you have bit into something that was too hot or drank something that was too hot and that that is the cause of it, or you’re allegic to a food, or have eaten something excessivly acidic- citrus fruits for example, pineapple can do it to your tongue & roof of mouth for sure. Also could be anything else, I had surgery last week, they intubated me, a week later the roof of my mouth is still sore as hell.

Tell him to stop jamming it in your throat
