Ok Moms, I need opinions. Ever since having my last child almost 8 years ago, I have had very weird and heavy periods. It is almost an every morning occurrence that I have either missed the pad completely while sleeping or have leaked out(I wear the overnight pads all the time). Have any of you tried the washable period underwear? Those that have, can you give me both pros and cons of them?
Not sure on the period underwear. But the always diapers are great, and comfortable.
If you have issues at night an adult diaper really helps with that. Just something to consider, I know it sounds odd but it works.
I love them
Much, much, much better than a pad - even with heavy flow.
I love my period panties! I still use a reg pad with them, but i no longer leak.
I haven’t had a period in a longggg time since I just had a baby a month ago but I wore adult diapers for postpartum and honestly they were amazing lol
Best thing ever my giris love them they personally wear a pad with them but there’s no worry of leaking in school
I have really heavy periods because of endometriosis and pcos and recently started using period panties and they are awesome! My only critique is that they are not as breathable so as we all know moisture trapped is not good so just be conscious about your flow and sweating, etc to make sure you don’t get irritated but overall not a huge problem and the benefits far outweigh that inconvenience
I use a period cup + underwear and I LOVE IT. Cramping is much better, basically only day one. The cup doesn’t leak much but the period underwear has yet to let me down if it does!
I’ve thought about trying them myself I go through pads so much! I had my tubes tied and it’s increased my bleeding. I’m also anemic so I’ve always been a bad bleeder. My doctor is also looking into a birth control to help with the blood and pain.
Get them. You won’t regret at least trying them.
Kinda sounds like you should ask your doctor,
I’ve been debating on whether to try them
Right now I double up my entire period with ultra tampons and the overnight kotex with the wide backs
- Go see your OB because there could be a reason that your periods are heavy. You may have uterine fibroids.
- If you have heavy bleeding the period pads won’t be enough. You’ll still have to wear pads.
I was a heavy bleeder and had to wear 2 heavy overnight pads with wings. I bled so much that I developed a serious iron deficiency and had to get IV iron infusions. While doing a laparoscopic procedure my doctor performed a D&C. After that I started taking the mini pill and my periods have been a thousand times better.
My cousin uses and adores them
They’re great as long as you get them so the padding is where you need it. I definitely don’t leak or anything. I’m not sure if I’d want to be out and about in the same pair on a hot day though.
I did that, in my 30’s, and it was a cantaloupe sized fibroid in my uterus.
I have and I love them! Easy to rinse out and wash. I have not had any leaking issues since I started. I do however use a disposable pad while out and about. They are not really convenient for public restrooms. I have noticed that depending on the brand they need replaced about every 6 to 7 months. Maybe it’s just me but I cannot stand ratty or worn looking undies. Even if they are for my period. There are many brands out there but I like thinks for everybody. They even have night time boy shorts that are great.
After I had my first baby I had one period that was just crazy heavy, so bad that I had blood run all down my legs the pad just didn’t do a thing to absorb any of it, got some period underwear though and they were amazing, no leaking at all even when it was crazy super duper heavy and I also wore them after I gave birth to my second baby, wasn’t bleeding much then at all but they were still amazing. I honestly don’t think I noticed any cons, they’re easy to clean just rinse them in the shower and then toss them in the wash
Modibodi are the best brand, get the overnight ones. I rinse and spray with watered down vinegar (I find this helps with the smell) then wash. If you can use a diva cup then that is the best solution.
Period panties are good, I recommend wearing with a pad though. It’s gross if you don’t Try always overnight pads with the Period panty…
This happened to me, it was fibroids. Dr put me on Provera. Now I don’t have periods. It’s fabulous!!
Definitely make an appt to check for fibroids. I ordered the pads they give you at the hospital off of Amazon and also ordered postpartum underwear from Amazon to wear during the night time
That definitely isn’t normal. You need to see an obgyn. I use the pads too and they work great but I think the cups work much better because you don’t feel like your wearing a diaper. It’s safe too. Birth control can help stop your period too but that would only be masking the problem. Check with OBGyn
Go to your Gynecologist!!!
Unfortunately, it’s another American product that contains forever chemicals, that are harmful to humans. Thinx and knix already have lawsuits against them
Always extra heavy overnight pads are bigger.
