Thoughts on the 2-in-1 washer and dryer?

My washer died and husband wants to look at a new set. We looked today and saw the 2 in 1 washer/dryer, has anyone got the 2 in 1 and regretted it and preferred their old front load washer and dryers ?

The heating element went out in mine after only having it a few months :frowning:

I have a two in one and I love it! It’s a little smaller but I love not having to put stuff in the dryer and just being able to do one cycle! It actually seems faster! The only downside is fall that we have is that ours is European so when a part breaks they are hard to find and take forever to get here! But I’ve seen new ones on the market and I would imagine if you buy a mor main stream one it wouldn’t be as big a hill to climb lol :joy:

Go with a Speed Queen set. You’ll thank me later.

We moved in a house when I was 13 and past owners left a set in the basement. Thought it was pretty cool then, that was 55 yrs ago

When mine goes out I’m getting one! A friend has one & loves it! She couldn’t rave enough about it!

I don’t have one but my thought is that if it breaks - you’re out of a washer AND a dryer :grimacing: You also can obviously only do one load of laundry at a time - which I know for me, it’s rare that I don’t have a load in the washer + dryer at the same time so it isn’t practical

I have a washer dryer combo and I love it.
Yes it takes longer to dry because it’s convection. Meaning it uses heat pump tech. It’s never been an issue for us it taking longer as we put a load in before bed and we wake up to it dry in the morning or again before we go to work and it’s washed and dry by the time we get home. Has made a positive difference in our power bill over a seperate set, and we’ve had it for around 5 years now and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a set!
The only minor inconvenience is that clothes seem to be more wrinkled and needing an iron but since I iron anyway it’s fine, and found that when you take them straight out when it’s finished, that almost disappears.
Hope you find this helpful.

I don’t like the fact that you can only do one load at a time. I have a decent size family and definitely not practical for us.

I have the GE profile ultrafast 2 in 1 and we love it wash and dries in a little under 2 hrs, have had it for about 6 months and no issues

I hated mine way to long to dry if and when they even dried all the way at all

I’ve heard they take hours to wash and dry and that it takes longer than a normal set up if it was me I wouldn’t buy one just because they are so new that they still don’t have all the bugs figured out yet

I had one and its probs the worse appliance I’ve ever bought. Took about 3- 4 hours to dry after a 60 minute wash. Mine didn’t have a quick was option so not sure if that’s why. I have a family of 6 so the I never had tgat much free time to wait for clothes to dry

Katie Halcomb you can laugh all you want lmfao its the truth

If it goes out

  1. it’s going to be more to fix
  2. you’re out both a washer & a dryer
  3. it’s so new, not alot of people are going to know how to fix it

But, if it’s something you have the money for, to keep up on repairs, and throw money into. Get it. If you want it.

No but I heard so many complaints from friends and family about front loaders that I never bought one of those either (didn’t see a 2 in 1 when we were looking). We have a top loader washer and dryer made by GE and no issues in 4 years.

If you’re not in any hurry to get your laundry done. Way to long to wash and dry

Had one once , wouldn’t again. Dryer took too long to dry clothes (not enough room for clothes to tumble) Tumbler needs bigger drum for that .Consequently using much more electricity.

They are rubbish. Takes too long to dry.

You need to post this on your personal Facebook this is a page with people all around the world lol
