What activities do you do with your 11-year-old?

Hello everyone! What kinda of fun things do you mamas do with your 11 year old sons? I know they’re growing and am looking for ideas, things to do at home, places to go to keep them entertained as they are an only child and don’t want to resort to video games. Accepting any and all ideas thank you!

I do Jiu Jitsu with my 12 year old

Sign them up for gymnastics most places offer parkour an trampoline classes super fun!

We play board games, listen to music and have a fire outside, walk the dogs, nature walks, go see live music at restaurants.

My oldest daughter is 11 soon to be 12 we go on walks, I pick days where she helps me make dinners she really likes so she can learn how to do it herself, we go shopping, I invite her to watch tv with me or I’ll ask her what she’s playing and just sit there and let her go on and on about her game, we have movie nights in my room where she’ll bring alllll her squishmallows and we get some good snacks. We try to get out and have mom and daughter days where we go to lunch and a walk around fun stores or movies or something. We have 4 kids and my youngest two have autism so it’s honestly hard to get out but I make sure I let her know how important she is and try to give her my attention when I’m able to it doesn’t have to be big things

Laser tag. Movies. Skating. Baking together and movie night at home.
Hiking in walking trails and parks. Playing cards. Pickle ball :person_shrugging:. Fishing? What do they enjoy doing? Do they like sports or photography while on hikes :person_shrugging:

Hiking, rock climbing, fishing, kayaking, collecting and painting rocks, skateboarding/longboarding, nature walks, planting, cooking classes.

My son and i love the arcade. We go in and first choose which prize we want to try ger enough tickets to win then load up our card and we are off. Its a good bonding moment coz we have to use team work and play to each others skills on certain games. Weve done this for years and even now at 15 he still enjoys it

Movies , walks , bike rides , fishing, road trip , camping, gym

Movies, bowling, outdoor water activity, museum, amusement parks, walks in park

Teach him to make cookies. Take him bowling .pain a dog house or paint flowers on shade or fence

Mine loves anything outside. We do a lot of tent camping, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing. Occasionally we’ll go to movies, out for ice cream or even just doing stuff at home. Cooking, going for walks, bike rides, watching movies.

I’d ask them what they would want to do, bc if you just randomly start picking stuff and they don’t like it, you’re gonna be worse off than if you’d just let them play video games

Frisbee golf, my kids all love it

Absolutely ask his interests as well but some fun unique activities to do together those escape rooms, Virtual Reality places, axe throwing, pickleball is becoming a big trend, oh can also try geocatching! Car shows even

What are the interests? All of my boys are into sports.

My son loves the trampoline park, ninja courses and swimming and walking our recreational park trails

Bowling, hiking, swimming-literally anything

We do a lot of hiking and playing in local creeks.
Bike rides, local museums, parks, and/or zoo are always good options. Take up a art or pottery class, karate or sport. Bowling or skating.

I play video games with my son but we play my old Super Nintendo. Aside from that we do legos, oragami, take apart electronics, fish, hunt, go to hockey games, chess, plant things.

Hes not into playing sports so he’s in a STEM club.

Ask him what he likes to do and do that. My 10 year old likes chess, bike rides, reading, coding, basketball, catch.

Activities I do with with my boys 6 &12- pools/water park, trampoline park, arcades, skating rink (ice and regular), mountain biking, hiking, movies, scavenger hunts through the parks or wooded areas around our house, fishing, snowboarding, throwing rocks in the river, we do our little version of art in the park canvas is cheap at most hobby stores and we take them to a nice shaded spot by the river and we pretend we are artists :joy:-

We tried a variety of sports and activities with my kids but nothing really stuck. They are neurodivergent and the social expectorations, rules, etc were just too much although running/walking/hiking has always been a good choice!

Going to walk at different parks and local waterways. Community festivals and farmers markets. Visiting museums and historical markers/areas. Having regular movie nights. 11 years old is not too old to be read to, or you could listen to an audio book together. Any crafts or painting projects to do together?
