Mamas!! I’m stuck.
I’m a first time mommy and my son will be due in March. I’m trying to finish out his registry details and I have NO CLUE what type of bottles and such to request. I plan to breastfeed but also plan on pumping for when I’m not accessible like at work. Please I need some help

Register for a few different kinds, your baby may not like certain ones.

I suggest a couple of different kinds rather than just one. You never know what they will like.

also try to get bottles that will attach to your pump so you can pump straight into the bottle baby will be eating out of… less hassle/mess
Tommy tippy and advent have been my fav for my kids

Tommy tippie is a good one to use while breastfeeding!
I had a medela pump and used the medela bottles. She had no issue going from Breast to bottle aNd back again when it was daddy turn to feed her. Also they sell all the add ins/nipples etc at Walmart so it was easy when I needed something.
Dr Brown they have a tube down the middle to prevent gas bubbles they were our favorite!
I have Medela Pump N Go and purchased all of the extra bottles and storage stuff that goes with it. I exclusively pump so I needed lots of containers, storage bags, and cleaning options.
We used a Dr. Brown bottle from day 1, since that is what our midwife left us with.
My son likes the tommee tipee
We used a few different kinds of bottles. Tommy Tippie were his favorite because they were easy to hold. I liked the Playtex drop ins because you really only have to worry about washing the nipples. (I’m all about shortcuts when surviving the newborn stage). We ended up using the Nuk ones for colic because he had bad reflux and gas.
He wasn’t BF at all, so I can’t say which ones were the best for that.
My it’s would only use the cheap Walmart ones
I spent $60+ on those fancy bottles just for them to hate them

tommee tippee is great im currently bottle breaking my daughter and she only takes tommee tippee sippy cups
Dr briwn bottles are the best and you go on line and order parts for it.
I bought all tommie tippee and my baby hated them and since switch to dr brown and he loves them
You’ll have to try them all basically and see what he likes

We really like Playtex VentAire
Here’s what we did to solve that. Put the goodies…nursery stuff. Toys…whatever. We asked for gift cards for diapers, bottles and formulas since we knew we would be trying several brands. And it worked out wonderful. We didn’t didnt get many clothes either. My son was born wearing 3 month clothes. And we tried 3 different brands of bottles and 4 formulas til one finally agreed. And diapers are not the same. We tried several brands as well. Gift cards are the way to go and people understand.
We just stuck with everything else (bath products, some toys, books, diaper bags, monitors…) for the shower. And let’s be honest, half the time people would rather just get a gift card to give anyways-they know it will get used.
I used dr.browns with both babies
Dr browns for sure! They have so many benefits from their special design that help a lot when doing bottle and breast both. Dr brown and mams were the only bottles my son would accept in the first month while I was also doing breast alongside bottles. Other bottles just don’t have a natural “nipple” feel for babies like dr browns and mams do. Tommee tippees were another brand he was ok with, I personally loved the bottle itself the nipple was the closest I’ve ever seen to size/shape of a woman’s true nipple, however there was sooo much extra nipple around the actual piece that goes in their mouth that for little little ones like newborns to 6 months it tends to just drip right out of their mouth and back down the outside of the nipple. For older than 6 months I’d highly recommend them because they are most natural nipple like I’ve ever seen. But for new babies 100% recommend dr browns or mam. I don’t believe I’ve heard of any baby I know not accepting a dr brown bottle.
I really like the nuk brand used them for my 1 yo and now my almost 3 week old. But to me its all personal opinion get a few different kinds to help you decide.
I registered for one or two of several different types of bottles. That way I had some to start out with and could see which one my son liked best. It’s mostly going to come down to your baby’s preference. My son only liked the playtex (not drop in) ones.
I tried Dr. Browns, drop ins, glass and plastic and to be honest I found that I preferred just cheap wal Mart brand best of all. You can change out nipples to various styles if you want and if they get lost or damaged you dont feel as bad because they dont cost an arm and a leg to replace.
The Nuk Simply Natural bottles are supposed to be awesome for breastfed babys. The nipples feel and flow more like mom. More likely for baby to take to it over a normal round tipped, single holed bottle nipple.
You should get a couple of different ones…you never know which ones he will like. I used Dr brown’s that reduced air intake. Register for a couple of each…you can try them out and buy more of the ones that work.
We used Dr browns bottles. However it gets old washing all the pieces. Next kid i wanna try the como ones…
I’ve used Tommee Tippee, Medela, Playtex and to me, nothing compares to Lasinoh Momma bottles! They are so easy to clean and they were the only bottles my breastfed son would use.
Dr Browns were great!!! Especially if your child happens to have reflux or gas issues!! When they got older the platex drop ins were great for days out!!

My kids, all 6 liked only the cheap ones, although I liked playtex and nuk, they didn’t like it…
I like the avent bottles they are a bit on the pricey side but they work fantastically
Both of my children were different both used brands of nappies and bottles.
My advise would be, don’t buy anything in bulk (for example, try just one bottle out of a few brands.) You will know when you find the right one.
For my eldest nuk brand worked great, my second avent brand work for him.
Every child is different.
Como tomo is all my first would take. My second baby is pretty flexible and likes both the como tomo and tommee tippees we have
A vent bottles are great and the measurements are the only ones I can read without my glasses!
MAM bottles are amazing and come completely apart for easy washing
We use Dr. Browns and love them!
I registered for about 4 different kinds. I received 3 out of the 4 and my son only liked one which were the Tommy tippie.
My favorite is the Avents Natural line. I suggest trying 2 or 3 different types though
Comotomo if breastfeeding for sure
Avent bottles. Buy a starter pack with everything. I pump as well contact your insurance you can get a free breast pump I love medela.
