What are the chances of catching Covid while outside?

We spent two weeks at the hospital and spending time at a public transit while waiting to go home. What are the risks of catching COVID while walking about outside in the parks with no masks on (mask on while there are people around)? What would you do!!??

We’re in Washington State. People wear masks while they hike. It’s close proximity to others. We’re still in lockdown and masked up tho.

I would imagine the chances of exposure , or contracting it are very extremely low.

From all I’ve read , your exposure is from touching your eyes , nose, or mouth ,with dirty hands. WASH your hands ( or the very least -sanitize them )
Do.not.touch your eyes , nose , or mouth with your hands.

Well considering I know many people who had it and the rest of the family who lived with them didn’t even catch it I would say outdoors away from others would be very slim.

Well as long as you’re not going around licking people who have covid I think you’re fine LOL

I don’t wear my mask anymore because our County lifted The Mask mandate last month. Expect for the school district and government building. Also if certain businesses still want to require their employees to wear them they can.

I don’t think anyone can answer that. If you are near someone who has it you can catch it. My husband got it then our who family got it.

If people are around close i would wear a mask or stay 6 feet or more away

If you cannot stay 6’ away from those that do not live with you, then I’d wear the mask.

Breathe in the fresh air!

There’s probably higher chance of you catching it during your 2 week hospital stay.

Masks don’t protect you from getting covid. They protect others from you, in case you have covid.
Outside is the safest place to be also. So I wouldn’t wear a mask if I am distanced from others. X

It’s extremely low cause they have said it gets passed through saliva cough sneezes and spit not through touch or anything else

Just go out and have a walk. Your chances are slim and if you get covid it’s most likely from your hospital stay and not from outside. I’ve hardly warn masks since this started and I’ve been fine while I know people who never left their house since it started and got it.

There is no way to know since you don’t know what strangers around you have. I’m continuing to maintain a 6ft distance around all people I don’t know. Not just because of Covid but because I haven’t had ANY illness in over a year and intend to keep it that way. I also keep a mask on my person on all times incase I am unable to keep a distance.

Not worry about a damn thing

I don’t wear a mask when I’m outside, never have this whole time. I do wear them inside an establishment if they are required though and a lot of businesses around here are starting to lift the mask mandate. If you just came out of the hospital though or are immunocompromised I would wear them at least for a little while.

sad the comments from people who say they have not worn masks this whole time–how selfish to not do something so simple to protect others! If you are vaccinated you are safe to not wear a mask–though to be extra safe you should consider still wearing one in crowded situations. Outdoors is fine. If you are not vaccinated please wear a mask anytime you are around other people!
