Tied tubes can occasionally regenerate scar tissue that connects them back together. Removing them eliminates tge chance.Talk with your doc a little more in depth as you get closer
I had mine tubes tied with my third and don’t regret it. I had worse cramps for a year or two then settled I think it might have been some with csection too because first two were vaginal, and my cycles were different with each kids so I don’t blame my ligation. Everyone is different don’t let somes bad experience deter you completely. Talk to your doctor look at what’s best for your family and do best choice for you.
My sister had her tubes tied last year after #4 & 4 C-Sections. I’m just going to tell you what her nurse told her in case this happens to you. They nicked her bladder when doing the tubes. The only way to heal your bladder is laying it flat which means you are given a catheter. She was in the hospital for week & was sent home with one for a week. This is what her nurse said don’t sit outside with your catheter in the sun…yup she got sun burned up there. The nurse only knew this because it happened to her.
I had my tubes tied. I wanted a hysterectomy, but the doctor refused to do it saying that it could cause cancer cuz I smoke. I wish I had gone to a different doctor. Now I have to take birth control cuz cysts keep growing on my ovaries.
I vote partial hysterectomy. Never hears of just tube removal. Yes due to age the leave your ovaries so you arent put directly into menopause.
I didn’t have them removed but I have them tied and it made my period worse and heavier
This is the first time I’ve heard of having the tubes removed. I probably should’ve done that years ago. 9 for me.
I had mine removed after my 3rd csection in September. They say you can have heavy/crampy periods but Ive ALWAYS had “Im dying” periods. I havent had any issues arise.
I just did the same in March after my fourth baby and csection. So far no issues and have had two normal cycles since.
Do it. I had a tubal done and then ended up with an ectopic pregnancy. Knowing what I do now I would have pushed to just have my tubes removed.
I have had my tubes removed and only issue i have is occasionally I get ovary pain but nothing to bad
I had mine removed last May after my 4th c section. I was in a lot of pain after. My periods suck bad now. I’ve rather be pregnant lol but everyone’s different.
Pro’s only lowers risk of cancer, 100% birth control, you will still have a monthly reminder from aunt flow but will not be as heavy.
I have no con’s as I don’t have this problem anymore.
I had a my tubes tied almost 21 years ago no pain no periods nothing.
I had mine removed after my 3rd csection and loved every minute of it. Have 4 kids also.
I had a tubal ligation with my youngest son because I am fine with just 3 kids that and I am also 37 and to old to think about having kids but I a yr later after having my ligation I decided to get a partial hysterectomy no regrets and no periods
I’m BRCA 1 positive. I had mine removed a little over a year ago. No problems at all and no regrets!
I had my tubes tied after giving birth to my second child. The recovery period was extremely painful.
Never heard of that happening
But maybe decause of 3 C Sections ready and no chance to get pregnant again.
I got my tubes tied with my 4th via c-section 4 yrs ago I wish they asked me if I wanted them removed. So you still get a period after removal?
Had both my ovaries removed and you will be thrown into early premenopause. You will need hormones or you will experience hot flashes and all the other fun stuff. I would ask them for a tubal if possible or have your significant other get snipped…just my two cents
My dr said removing the tube is more standard now. Some ovarian cancers start in the tubes so it also removes that risk.
I had my tubes tied 6 years ago. Regret it everyday. More painful and extremely heavy periods. Overflow an ultra tampon in 2 hours. Had dnc and ablation done. Now get it for 12 to 14 days. Had an appointment with ob but it got canceled. Cant wait to go back in. I won’t settle for anything other than a hysterectomy
I had both done at the same time as I had my daughter via caesarean. Everything was ok and no regrets, she is 25 at Christmas
I had 4 babies 2 boys and 2 girls. I got my tubes tied by laser lol 4 days before my first grand child was born. I’d be damn if I got pregnant while being a granny.
According to my OB, Studies show that having you tubes completely removed reduces your chances of developing ovarian cancer…
Have them tied cut and burned. Not just tied cause they can come un done. Congrats and good luck
According to a friend that had it done its about 80% effective according to her doc and shes had 3 miscarriages since then
Remove them don’t tie them ladies!!! I have a full hysterectomy at 30. So many complications
I had mine tied and I had a uterine ablation done. No babies and no periods. Oh. And no menopause.
Mine were burnt and tied in 2001. I have had no problems.
I just had my tubes removed after our fourth little one in February 2020. Pros: all the sex you want and no worries about another baby lol Con: I do have SLIGHTLY heavier periods than before (I was not on hormonal birth control before), but my active bleeding only lasts one day, literally.
Most ovarian cancer actually starts in the tubes
I had my daughter csection and tubal done better then doing tubal later
Never have another baby but mine were just seriously tied burnt cut
Ovaries are for hormones not your tubes…
How does one even submit a “fan question “?
I got them tied as opposed to taking them out fully. For some reason at the time it wasn’t even an option. I have terrible periods and painful ovulation as well as both the clips have since fallen off. One is logged in my side and the other one came out completely with my period so there’s that
I didnt know that was a thing. I’m intrigued
Dont do it. Take precautions. Anything can happen. Lord forbid
Don’t Do It. My friend is a Nurse and said Not Recomend
I refuse to get it done. My husband got snipped.
It will be different for every person. Listen to doctors.
Tubal after 4th c-section here. 4th baby is now 2yr old.
Post tubal…worst ovulation & period cramping of my life,…every single month. rarely had more than mild discomfort before. Extremely heavy flow. as in I can barely keep up with it for the 1st 2-3 days. Extreme mood swings/ anger exactly 2 days before beginning period. All are side effects of the tubal…but I was never warned about these possibilities before hand by my doctor. But, at least I know I won’t have any little surprises in the future so there’s that.
It’s a personal choice,
Had mine removed. I havent had any issues.
the recovery time was longer for me.
I’m having my tubes tied
Following. I am on the wait list for tube removal because I keep having ectopics
Lucky. 2 boys and 2 girls. Congratulations mama!
I had my tubes removed, my doctor told me she does this because studies show that it decreases chances on ovarian cancer in the future. I had it done on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday. I have not had any issues, and resumed normal periods shortly after. I had it done laparoscopically and in out patient.
No cons just pros lol
After my last baby (vaginal), about 20 minutes after she was born and while the epidural was still going, they took me back. It was just supposed to be a tubal ligation. The assisting Nurse/surgical tech/student? had said that she didn’t feel like she should be assisting, she said she felt sick. The Doctor (not mine, mine didn’t have surgical rights at this Hospital) was a dick, and demanded she assist, telling her this was a learning/teaching hospital, she hadn’t passed off a tubal yet, and it was the easiest, quickest surgical procedure. We get back there, the anesthesiologist is so cool! He asks if I want to watch the procedure, and I’m stoked because Hell yeah I wanna watch! It’s only the anesthesiologist at my head, simply watching my vitals-this is a bloodless surgery, so there isn’t any auction set up or even available. It’s a teeny hole in my belly button, then one on either side where they go in to cut and tie the tubes. Cauterization is used all during-so, bloodless. So it’s the anesthesiologist, the Dick Doctor, and the feeling sick nurse/student. They get it all set up, strap my arms down like when you get a csection, put the drape up. The only difference, is that there’s a mirror on the ceiling and the anesthesiologist is cool as shit and he’s telling me step by step what the Nurse and Doctor are doing. Supposed to be like a 20 minute procedure. At this point, the Doctor has my left fallopian tube in the forcept, the Nurse/surgical Tech/Resident (I still honestly don’t know WHAT she was) has my right fallopian tube in the forcept, he’s talking and walking her through mirroring his every step for this quick and easy surgery. Y’ALL! All of a sudden, the Nurse says “I don’t feel…” and she passes out cold-her grip is solid people, because she’s holding on so tightly to that forcept, that she RIPS MY FALLOPIAN TUBE OFF OF MY UTERUS, it is laying clamped in that forcept on the floor with a fainted Medical professional! I remember thinking “huh, that doesn’t seem good” right at the moment that the anesthesiologist jumped up faster than any human I e ever seen, and the Dick Doctor screamed like a Little girl and started scrambling. The anesthesiologist isn’t allowed to leave your head during surgery, I learned that. The Doctor is scrambling, screaming, the anesthesiologist is panicking. Remember, this is a bloodless surgery (), so there’s no suction. Meanwhile, this is NOT a bloodless surgery, and I’m basically now being FORCED to watch it all in the mirror on the ceiling! The Doctor is screaming for help, the anesthesiologist is screaming for help, and at this point I’ve joined in the panic and am also screaming. I honestly don’t know how much time passed before the desperate Doctor ran out of the surgery room and came back with a whole gaggle of medical personnel. They ended up having to open me up and perform a 3 hour surgery because my uterus was now so damaged. Then my bewildered, worried husband was lied to. They Seriously tried to cover up what had happened! It took my Doctor, seeing my belly stapled back up and the agonizing pain I was in, it took 2 days for them to admit what had happened. My baby was a preemie, so she was lifeflighted out of that hospital to another hospital, and I couldn’t even leave to go to the hospital she was at, because of their screw up! It was 5 days before I could go join her, I had to have my husband take a picture of her for me because I didn’t even know what she looked like. But wait, there’s more! 4 months later, I got my hospital bill. They tried to charge me for a Csection-I had a vaginal birth-but they argued that due to unforseen circumstances, they had to basically do a Csection-unforseen?! The Nurse stated VERY much that she didn’t feel good and didn’t want to do the procedure. I fought them and won that battle at least. But wait, there’s even more! I had constant pain and bleeding after this. So less than 6 months later, they had to perform an emergency hysterectomy.
So, there’s my lovely experience. I’m sure that if the expectation and the plan is to remove your tubes from your uterus, that they will do a lovely job for you and that they will do it correctly.
This happened 16 years ago this week, it’s an insane story that still makes me mad, but it’s so absurd that I can laugh at parts now. I honestly should have sued them, but I didn’t ever stand up for myself back then and felt like it was rude to sue someone-I actually felt more sorry for the nurse and everyone that had to work with Doctor Dick, than I did for myself! And no convincing on my husband’s part could convince me to go forward with the suit.
My husband and I got separated when i found out he was having an affair with another woman, when i confronted him, we had argument and he broke up with me, i tried all i could to get him back but all to no avail. I cried all day and helpless looking up to God to help me with the problem in my marriage. All I need is my marriage to be restored back, we’ve been together for years and he has done nothing but cheated and lied to me. but I know it’s something that can be fixed I still love him the same way when I first met him. However I decided to seek help from Priest Andrew, he reunited my marriage back together as it was in the beginning. now my marriage is perfectly fine and I know there are lot of people out there who have different kind of problem in home, marriages and relationships. Very interesting post
I got mine removed in August after my 3rd c-section. The only side effects I seen so far is it’s a money pit. I broke my bed when I finally healed
I had my tubes removed almost 2 years ago, they took them out when I had a c section for my son. I’ve always had heavy bleeding and cramping with my period. Some months the cramps and bleeding are worse then other months. It was the beat thing to have it done. I don’t have to worry about birth control and my risk of getting cancer in the future is lower.
I did the same. More pain and less mobility first few days vs just having c-section. Having someone help at home is a plus! Raise your bed height if possible to make sitting or lying down easier as well as being able to get out of bed. Turning in bed may be difficult cause every movement using your stomach muscles HURTS. Couldn’t wear anything snug around my waist for weeks, too tender, but it was all worth it. Rest, relax, and let someone else help with baby until you feel better.
Had my tubes completely 4 years ago. Not a single issue. Periods are normal.
