Wear what you want.
It will be exactly what you woukd imagine. You will stand in front of a judge and he will marry you. Not fancy, but efficient.

I got married in a courthouse wedding 26 years ago. Back then you could wear jeans if you wanted. My husband wore a nice shirt and black jeans. I wore a dress but I would’ve worn jeans if I wanted. It was so easy I’ve recommended it to other people. My husband and I are very introverted and hate doing things in front of people. We were allowed 100 people to witness it.

I got married in a courthouse 5 years ago… and truly you wear whatever you want… I did wore a white dress… not as elegant as I could have imagined for a “big wedding” but it was a wedding dress… my husband wore a tux… our son also wore a tux… uhm it’s super simple and then we took pics there because they’ll have a small little set up… but you can arrange for a photoshoot after … somewhere nice to your liking. Congratulations on your wedding. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

They’re very informal. You could wear your pajamas if you wanted to.

My husband and I got married at the court house. He wore black dress pants and a white button down shirt. I wore a white maxi dress and white sandals. We went in, told them we were there to get married, the clerk came down, took us to a small room and married us. We were in and out in like 20 minutes.

An unenthusiastic Justice of the peace :joy:. It’s a very relaxed setting. You can wear whatever you want and bring witnesses. You can have vows if you want but they probably prefer you don’t. Very quick process.

Now a days there is no wedding. You just fill out the marriage certificate on line then print it off and have it notarized and then take it to the court house they file it and then you are married.

Striped shirt and pants must be black or blue stripes same with the hat . Or you could wear a curly wig with a black gown. Make sure you wear the right gear or you could be serving a long sentence. Congratulations

I attended a court house wedding before. Dress nicely, invite a few people & the room was nice for photos.

I got married at the court house in blue jeans, a t-shirt and my cowboy boots lol. We went into a small office said our I do’s and where married. Only people that fit where the judge us and our witnesses.

Mine is coming up on Friday. So far we set the appointment for the judge to marry us. We signed the paperwork. We can have up to 10 people but need at least 2 witnesses over the age of 12.

I got a nice salmon colored dress and wedges to wear to my courthouse wedding and then proceeded to drop half a burger on my lap ruining the dress 2 hours before we went in so I got married in shorts and a t-shirt lol. My husband was in the army so he wore his dress blues. We went in signed some papers, somebody talked to us for a few mins to make sure that’s what we really wanted and then the judge came in. He had us stand facing each other and holding hands while we said our vows and I do’s and we were done. A couple people from the courthouse were our witnesses so I have no idea about bringing your own. It’s fairly simple and you can call the local courthouse if you have any specific questions

In Michigan you don’t expect much. It’s nothing fancy or special. You literally just sign a paper. Nothing really special about it. Honestly I wouldn’t wear a full wedding dress because the ones that do look really silly and way over dressed because most of the time it’s in a small office and the dude that watches you sign is basically wearing pajamas.
