My 2 yr old has been scratching herself in her sleep like crazy. Last week she woke in the morning and it was so bad she was bleeding I couldn’t even tell if there was a rash was on the back of her neck and shoulders.
She didnt wake up crying or anything that night. I took her to the dr and she wasn’t worried she said its eczema. The thing is shes had eczema before AMD never done anything like this I put the cream on didnt help now shes scratching her face and ears. I will be going to a different pediatrician but for now any thoughts?

Poor thing. Are you using a steroid cream? That will help the itching and make it go away quicker
I have severe eczema and I tried so many different steroid and no steroid cream plus oral medications nothing worked I had given up and I just lived with it until someone told me to try coconut oil it’s worked wonders my eczema is almost gone
Did you switch laundry detergent or soap or anything of that sort?
Aveeno baby lotion helped my son a lot. Maybe wash her bedding?
Create a cream of organic coconut oil, shea butter from the health food store in a regular sized jar after melted in a small pot with 20 drops of tea tree essential oil. You may add lavender as well. All of these things are antifungal, antimicrobial, antiinflammatory.
Everything you put on your skin your liver processes. Get her some organic soap at the health food store or go soapless in the tub with some Epsom salt, aluminum free baking soda from the health food store, dead sea salt. You can wash hair with a little raw apple cider vinegar, dime size amount of coconut oil and a teaspoon of aluminum free baking soda.
Oatmeal baths!! Put regular oatmeal in panty hose, tie it up, toss one in the bath water when she takes a bath. It will soothe and hydrate her skin.
My oldest has it. I give her yogurt every day. Sometimes 2 times a day. I get good oatmeal and Shea butter lotion and body wash. The lotion I use it about every hour. And I try to keep stuff from rubbing on it. That’s what has worked for us

Make sure you aren’t using any carcinogenic brands of soap, air freshener, laundry detergent. Only free and clear, organic preferably.
Have you tried coconut oil? Both of my nephews suffer with it and it helps them very much
I had the same problem when my daughter was that age, and every time her eczema acts up I use
Hydrocortisone
1% cortoderm oint1% from my doctor, and it works wonderful, pulse I use cream DE base together it help her ,
I had to use Cetaphil brand on my sons even though Aveeno worked great with my daughters. Also the Dr prescribed some cream stuff for it as well.
Eucerin cream is great stuff. Try to use something soothing on her skin before bedtime and keep her nails trimmed and short
Don’t use the steroidal cream, it makes it worse. Goats milk moisturiser and wash were the only things we found that worked
Try aloe vera and maybe some allergy meds at night
My son has severe eczema. His skin requires a lot of care and sensitivity. He needs fragrance free everything—soap, lotion, laundry detergent, bubble bath. And he has to have lotion after every single bath or he starts getting bad patches. We have a prescription cream for severe breakouts. Try going fragrance and dye free for everything. To manage it you might need more than just the lotion.
Maybe an ear infection?
My child scratches her face and head when she gets tired (6 months old) she now has a fuzzy blanket that she lays with and rubs that on her face instead if scratching it. It’s a comfort thing for my kid
Sometimes diet helps, try cutting out dairy and sugar those seem to really trigger it, also there are non scented laundry soaps and aveeno oatmeal soap and lotion that may help
Check the mattress to make sure it’s not bedbugs. They are small so look in the seams of the mattress. They may be biting her at night. It won’t hurt to check.
