My daughter had a lot a lot of heartburn with her daughter (and yes LOL she was born with a head full of hair) TUMS she carried Tums with her pretty much everywhere she went
Going through the same thing, and had it with my first baby too! My doctor recommended one famotidine (Pepcid) 20 mg pill one hour before breakfast and one pill one hour before dinner, and a little bit of Mylanta right before bed. Worked wonders for me last time, and is at least keeping it at bay this time around!
I had terrible heartburn when I was pregnant. Was eating Tums all day. Prevacid helped too. My daughter was born with so much hair, but maybe that’s just an old wives’ tale
I remember with my first baby, I was worried about not having heartburn because I did hear about mom’s having heartburn means more hair for my baby I didn’t experience heartburn but my baby was born with a lot of hair lol hope you feel better soon!
My heartburn was the worst, like fire breathing dragon bad, and they even said they saw a lot of hair on my ultrasound. My baby was BALD
Tums wasn’t working for me. My doctor told me to take Nexium. He said it was pregnancy approved. Maybe try that, double check with your doctor first. It’s been a life saver!!
Tums tums tums!! They were my God send with both my Boys!! My heart burn was soooo bad I’d sit & cry for hours!! Doc said tums wre safe, I ate them like candy after that!!!
I had terrible heartburn when I was pregnant with my last baby… my doctor prescribed me Ranitidine… it helped tremendously
Check ur diet and change some of the stuff u eat. Usually acidic, sometimes sweets can cause it. Also dont eat hr before bed. No soda 1 hr before bed or juice.
I never suffered with heartburn through my first pregnancy and she was born with a head full of hair, I suffered really badly with it through my second, only took gaviscon to help, baby was with hair but nowhere near as much as my daughter.
I had it BAD with my 2nd angel. My Dr. Prescribed me a Lidocaine liquid to soothe it. It’s been 21 years so I can’t remember the name but I’m sure your Dr. Can help. Good luck
Tumbs and a lot of them both my pregnancies i litterly ate them like smarties. I even started taking them earlier during my second pregnancy than my first because it was my worst pregnancy symptom. I never had heartburn before i got pregnant and have never had it again after pregnancy
Taking a shot of apple cider vinegar! I had the worst heartburn with every kid and finally with my last I discovered from my midwife to use apple cider vinegar! It’s gross but it worked like a charm every time.
I know this sounds weird. But a small cup of cold milk and a couple saltines with a little mustard on them. Works like a charm.
I’m 34 weeks and I stay popping Tums like it’s candy! My doctor said it’s safe to drink mylanta as well but not as often. I don’t take it tho because I don’t like the taste. She prescribed me Omeprazole which I take 30 min before I eat a meal and it’s helped a lot.
I had the same problem, I took tums and my Dr prescribed something for me. My babies had hair…
I LIVED with heartburn. The only thing that helped was papaya enzymes. My baby was born practically bald!
Pepcid!! I’m on baby 3 and the heartburn is by far always my worstttt symptom of pregnancy! I take 10 mg in morning and one in the evening before or after dinner to help me through the night. Huge difference.
If you use essential oil’s try peppermint oil rubbed on or one of the digest blends.
I take Prillosec, Tums, Gas-X together I have really severe heartburn and it’s the only combo that seems to work.
Tugs peppermint were life savers for me with both of my pregnancies
Low fat milk, toast with butter, when i was preggers back in 08,
I took alot of zantac 150, but fda pulled that medication last year
I think. Good luck. Also check with your doc❤
Idk how people say mints… it always made mine worse. The berry flavored Tums helped me on the rare occasion I had issues… I ate spicy food all the time when pregnant.
Careful of tums! I took them in my first pregnancy without the advice of my OB because everyone says they are perfectly safe during pregnancy. Took them like candy my heartburn was so bad. Ended up with horrible kidney stones during pregnancy! My OB said she never would have advised tums had I asked first the kidney stones were a direct result of taking tums
I was/am prescribed 2 medications for heartburn during pregnancy. Makes the world of a difference. I never feel the actual heartburn until the end, but the higher stomach acid causes crippling morning sickness. Talk to your doctor about if prescriptions would help you.
I have 4 days til my scheduled C-section and I still have heart burn… I have taken so many different things, home remedies, anything someone tells me…… it never stops. Hopefully you find comfort and I feel just like you. THIS BABY BETTER HAVE HAIR!!!
You may need prescribed medication for it I did before I got that the only time I got relief was when I was sick even over the counter medicines needs approval from a pharmacist so speak to your midwife/doctor xx
If you take time PLEASE be careful. I had heartburn bad so I chose to eat tums like candy and ended up being admitted to the hospital for calcium kidney stones. I have it horrible now with this pregnancy and Pepcid and almond milk have been my only relief.
Tums is what I took for both pregnancies and the only kind (for me) that worked were the Walmart brand spearmint ones. and as far as hair goes, one of my babies had a bunch of hair and the other didn’t have a ton, but was born with some.
With my firstborn I was told Omeprazole, by the time I got to my 2nd Omeprazole was no longer safe because it was linked to Cerebral Palsy so I was put on the old version of Zantac (ranitidine) which got discontinued due to cancer link (it’s now back using famotidine as the main ingredient), my doctor said tums were fine but don’t eat them like candy. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist though.
Sleep on your left side
I ate mint chocolate ice cream anything mint helped me
Ask your doc for antacids or something for nausea I was prescribed diclectin
I had to be prescribed something stronger than OTC meds with my 3rd, heartburn and reflux so bad I wasn’t sleeping and nothing else helped it at all. Only thing that came close, shockingly was lemonade. Lol
Sound weird but toothpaste
A shot of pickle juice has been the only help for me and I’m 16 weeks
I know sounds crazy lol but it works
Pickle juice and milk helped me
Currently 32 weeks- my nightly remedy is a few tums and a glass of ice cold milk. My reflux is so bad it’ll make me so if I end up getting sick I’d rather be it milk than anything else.
