What’s the best thing to do for a 3 month old who is extremely stuffy, gaggy, barking and breathing hard at times. He doesn’t have a fever and drainage is clear. He is bottle fed. I have tried warm baths but not sure what else to do. Any advice would helpful and appreciated
Try steaming up the bathroom and sit in there with him for a little he could possibly be teething my daughter had similar symptoms at that age and teething was the issue
the Dr, humidifier, have sleep in up right position in there car seat buckled up
Vicks on feet with socks!! Humidifier on high. Also consult pediatrician ASAP. Could be upper respiratory Infection or ear infection
Take your child to a pastor who does deleverance! Then you will be able to thank Jesus for his deleverance. Amene
You should definitely speak to their doctor. In the meantime, there is a Zarbee’s baby chest rub safe for 2mo+. We also used Frida vapor bath in our baby’s bath and a cool mist humidifier by the bed. Suctioned with a nose frida each diaper change at home to prevent drainage.
A barking cough can be concerning so definitely seek some true medical advice.
Could be rsv which can be deadly. I would take him to urgent care asap
Saline spray helps a little. Safe for newborns but def go to dr
What does your pediatrician say?
Pediatrician 100% and if he has trouble breathing then ER.
Steam bath
Run the water in your tub or shower as hot as you can. Take him in the bathroom you & shut the door. Put towels around the bottom of the door & anywhere else steam escapes. Then just stay in there for 15-20 minutes breathing in the steam. If he cries it’s ok he’s actually breathing the steam deeper. Apply baby Vicks to the bottom of his feet then put socks on. Use a dehumidifier in his room. Repeat the steam bath often through the day. If he doesn’t improve in a day take him to the Dr.
Hurry to the ER now.
Sounds like a case of croup.
Babies and small children can go down fast…
Being that little, I would make a Dr appt.
Er if you can’t get into the Dr. Also the vicks vapor machine is really good!! It takes little tabs
sit in the bathroom with the shower on hot, steam bath, if no improvement take your baby to the doctor.
If the cough sounds like barking, it may be croup or RSV. I would suggest getting that baby to the doctor
A vaporizer will help. Most likely your baby might be cutting teeth early. Check with your pediatrician always!
Nose sucker. Steamy bathroom while you hold your little one.
If you find that your baby isn’t eating enough or has less pee diapers. Then it’s best to take your little one in.
Doctor asap for barking cough
Um call the pediatrician!
Call the doctor. Try vapor rub that helps.
Take him to the doctors as soon as possible
Barking cough sounds like whooping cough almost like a seal squeaking take to the doctor
Get a bulb syringe and suck the mucus out, also close yourself with her up in the bathroom and steam it up to help loosen her sinuses. She is probably allergic to something, if she were ill there would be a fever, and the mucus would not be clear. If you are using anything with a fragrance stop, no air fresheners, no candles, no perfume, no scented products, and try a baby allergy med if that helps she definitelyhas allergies. Also if you are worried get her to a doctor.
A humidifier is wonderful to have with a sick baby. Ours is a cool mist one, so no worries about heat.
They also make a baby vicks, which isn’t as strong as the regular one but still seems to help a little.
Other than that…just lots of cuddles and keeping an eye out for serious symptoms (high or consistent long lasting fever, dehydration, bad cough).
It’s always okay to reach out to your baby’s doctor if you’re concerned about anything; ours has even told us she’d rather have a parent call her over nothing but peace of mind, than have them stay silent and miss something serious.
Not sure if anyone said it but I used to rub baby Vicks on his feet then put socks on or a sleepers with the footies on them a humidifier with Vicks in it and I used a boppy pillow to elevate him (doctor approved before using the pillow) saline spray and a nose sucker you can also put the baby Vicks in small amounts on his chest told by his doctor said it soaks in and clears mucus and air ways. And I’d also try to get him into his doctor just to make sure it’s not rsv or croup.
Vicks on his feet with socks. Works magic on the coughing
Baby Vicks on the feet with socks , humidifier , lavender drops , skin to skin under a blanket for 30 mins
Cool mist humidifier!! Don’t use the heated ones. They create more issues typically. Bacteria thrives in warm places, and they are breeding grounds for it
Zarbees for infants but if the cough is like that I’d get him checked… RSV and Croup is going around
I know this is going to sound a bit weird…but do you have any friends that are breastfeeding? I bottle fed my daughter but whenever she got sick, my girlfriend gave me some of her breastmilk to give to her and max 2 days later was completely better, every time. I know you can find places that give out breastmilk donations people have made. You could give it a shot…there’s not much out there to help a 3 month old with a cold like that, but breastmilk seems to have done the job for us! (I bottle fed all 3 of my children, and my last one was when I discovered how much the breastmilk can help with a sick baby. Please understand I am not casting judgment on anyone here who chooses to bottle feed over breastfeed, fed is best at the end of the day.) But just a useful tip I have discovered! Good luck!
My daughter was born with a cold. Had to use Ocean Spray. It is great for newborn
Sounds like rsv… needs dr.asap
Came to see how many times go to the Dr. gets posted because why not ?
Croup? Call your pediatrician.
Infant vicks on the bottom of their feet with socks on & a very thin layer on their chest.
Humidifier at night or steam in the bathroom. Baby vicks
Baby vix on his feet with socks! And I swear by the fridamom nose sucker.
Vicks vapor rub on their feet with booties on top. Warm, steamy baths. Nose sucker.
I would definitely take the baby to the doctor. You can try sitting in the bathroom holding baby and turning the shower in straight hot to steam up the room. Also saline nose drops will help clear his nos. But number one thing to do is get him checked out by a Dr. because of his age and to rule out something more serious
Just seeing your post
Hoping you took your baby in to be seen by the Pediatrician
