What can I do for my toddlers diaper rash?

Help ! My 19 month old has an awful diaper rash. From acidic poop for sure. What can I do !!! She doesn’t like water touching it. Every butt paste seems to bother her. She doesn’t like being naked. Her poor labia are red and swollen. I am calling the doctor in the morning. Any home remedies? Gave her Tylenol.

Bagbalm works awesome!
That’s all I used when my kids wore diapers

Sudocrem worked great with my kids.

She needs to air out as much as possible.

Change her diaper regularly is the #1 thing you can do. Now that being said let her go diaper free it works well.

My gram and mom used all natural sunlight and air on my bbys’. I dont like to use anything that’s not all natural.

My mom swore by corn starch. She was born in the 40’s so it is an old timer remedy. Just use it like baby powder.

Going to just have to lather and cover with a diaper/pullup/undies. My kiddo hates the application part but I call it ‘booboo cream’, so after he realizes it helps he’ll start asking for it lol.

Desitin is my go to. Works beautifully, quickly, and lasts a long while.

Baking soda mixed with a little water works wonders

Boogie bottoms spray. The BEST. Like liquid gold. We battled them forever. Went to water wipes too. Butt paste can actually make it worse by trapping moisture. Don’t wipe for pee till healed.

Baking soda bath and lotrimin cream

Labia is not a curse word. Good luck with the rash!

Salt water cool bath then metanium

Triple antibiotic ointment with pain relief then put Destin Max on top of it.
This worked like a charm for my two when they had acidic stools

Egg WHITES and corn starch, swear by it!!! You’ll see improvement by morning!!

Try airing it out. Get her one of those kid toilets and put her on it every 30 minutes. She may surprise you and potty train early.

I know this is going to sound weird. But when my kids were little, desitin didnt work on them. So my nanny said to cook up some bacon. Leave the bacon grease on the pan until it cools off. Put it in a container. And use it as butt ointment. I swore by this. It helped my kids diaper rash every single time!! Never used anything else after this.

My son had the problem and so I mixed a half tube of Destin and a full tube of triple antibiotic ointment with pain relief. Keep in an airtight container

Resinol off Amazon. Best stuff ever. I will never go another day in my life without it.

Triple paste and breast milk are the only things that have worked for my son. I’d you don’t have breast milk the triple paste is amazing just smear a huge glob on and a little powder over top to keep it sealed on otherwise any paste will come right off within minutes of the diaper being on. His poop is extremely acidic as well n has been since birth

Cornstarch between diaper chngs

Try and bare the but. Might need see Dr. And get a prescription cream I had to do that for my girls I myself also had to change diapers because also was allergic to pampers and that was hospital diapers. But try bare but for little while.

Caldesene powder and calmoseptine cream are both great for treatment and prevention. When nothing else works for my boys, these do.

Maybe some pure aloe gel and ask the dr if a numbing cream could help.

Gold bond powder. Since she’s a girl and you don’t want to be powdering her private bits, maybe make a paste with distilled water?

Best stuff I have ever used take the rash away fast

Cornstarch. Pat it on rash and then pour a little in diaper. You’ll notice a major difference by next diaper change.

Triple Paste, its sold at most Walgreens a little pricey but well worth it, it’s usually gone by next morning.

Put corn starch in oven & let get tan color. Old Time remedy

If ointment I use very little keep them dry as possible

Corn starch. Put some in a bowl and add water to make it a paste consistency. Pour it all over and lock up the diaper. Do it on an overnight diaper.

Constarch and put alot ,the best cure and fast relief.

I tell u a thing to used. Go to the pharmcy or store. Buy malox. And aquaphor ointment. Bring home put them in a bowl, add the malox a little at a time. Stir. Thus will form a cream. The malox calm the acid. The ointment heals the skin. Used this for years on my children. Gave it to other people all have told me it works great. I put mine in a small jar after I made it up.

triple paste!!! the only thing that touched my kids diaper rashes when they were babies

Butt paste is amazing. Takes it away quickly and doesn’t seem to burn like the other rash creams.

Bepanthen put it on thick and change diaper more often. Every nappy change put more on thick not the antiseptic one as it will hurt her just normal and you should see a difference by the next day I hope she gets better quickly poor little one

Canestin for yeast infections. The generic name is clotrimazole I think. You can buy the cream at the drug store. I put that on and then cover it with a layer of Vaseline to help create aa barrier against poop and pee.

Vaseline, as thick as you can get it to stay on, and cornstarch. Literally, liberally, slather the thickest coat the Vaseline on the affected area possible, then coat it with cornstarch. There is no such thing as too much cornstarch here either. It functions two ways. One, the vaseline protects and soothes the skin, and gives liquid proof barrier to acidic urine and feces. And the cornstarch keeps the diaper from chafing the now extra sensitive area, and two, the excess extra cornstarch left on the bottom of the diaper itself acts as an absorbent and pulls urine and diarrhea away from the skin. Works better than any diaper cream you can buy. Plus, way easier to get off than diaper cream and gentler on the skin when you need to change baby’s diaper and reapply.

I was told cornstarch only cause Vaseline wasn’t for really red rash cause it would hurt too much, there is now spray zincofax you don’t touch the already red sore skin best thing we ever used on the kids and leave them bare bum as well, we also used charcoal bamboo cloth diapers for a bad rash, way more comfortable than the pampers

She may have a fungal infection. Try an antifungal cream instead.

Canesten 1% is brilliant put on after every dirty nappy change til it’s better.

Message me I have a recipe for diaper rash I just can’t post it to this page for some reason

My almost 4 week old had horrible diaper rash and I tried so many different things…the doctor recommended this and I started it two days ago and her butt is almost all cleared up now!

Vaseline or antibiotic ointment!

Naked as long as possible… air out make sure alway dry before putting diaper on Fan that butt…

Aquaphor or just plain Vaseline. If it’s been more than 3 days without improvement contact her dr for a prescription. Do not put anything on her girl parts not approved by the dr. Showers. Keep her dry as possible.

Not washing littles after urinating can also contribute to scalded diaper rash:honeybee::lady_beetle::sunflower::heart:

Don’t cake it on and no diper for a few

AQUAFOR…it works AMAZING for that.

Soak in a few inches of warm water with half a box of baking soda dissolved in it, air dry completely letting little sit on towels/blankets for a few hours and then using a cotton ball dab on milk of magnesia (do this portion with ever diaper change). The antacid pulls out the acid in the skin causing the rash. Oldest had a bleeding rash and this method cleared it up in 2 days.

I swear by bag balm. It’s old school but I’ve used it with both my babies and it’s does miracles. Prayers for your little one.

Aloe vera from the plant cover them area with the gel from inside the leaf. Clears it up over nite

Aquaphor and instead of putting it on her directly, put it all over on the inside of her diaper.

Mix A and D ointment with Monistat 7. Its magic. Recommended by old school pediatricians

Bag balm in the green can!

My kid’s pediatrician told me about this concoction when my daughter had terrible diaper rash and it helped. It was a mixture of cornstarch, maalox and a little bit of desitin. Mix it until it becomes a paste. She also gave me a prescription for silvadine for when it was raw and bleeding. Between both of them it helped and cleared up. The concoction worked as a barrier for the acidic poop

Mix 1 tube desitin,1 tube a&d ointment, 1 tblsp cornstarch, 2 tblsp pepto bismol. Works great and lasts forever
