What can I do for postpartum anxiety?

I had my baby girl 14 months ago (our 3rd child). About 2 months post partum I was having really weird symptoms and after many tests they diagnosed me with post partum anxiety. I’ve tried Buspar and Zoloft with no success and currently taking ashwaganda and passionflower daily. The week before my period I add in cbd oil as my anxiety gets worse. The supplements are no longer helping as the cbd oil gives me an incredibly painful throat. I recently got a gene site test done but haven’t gotten results yet and I just really need some ideas to help as my anxiety is becoming crippling. What are some things that have worked for all of you?

Viibryd, Rexulti, and Klonopin. My anxiety was so crippling before I started on this regiment. Not to mention my panic attacks sent me to the ER three times I thought I was dying. I also had a DNA test done to take the guesswork out of what medications would work and which would not work.

Lexapro helped me tremendously. Ive suffered with anxiety all my life and postpartum was the worst. Put the baby in the stroller and go for a walk everyday. Exercise helps.

Honestly, mine is crippling. I get off balance, dizzy, and feel like I’m gonna faint from it. It makes me miserable some days. It’s a constant battle. I am on medication, but as needed. Do you talk to a counselor? It may help you. Good luck and prayers your way!

Have you tried the cbd oil in some tea?

Buspar and zoloft made me worse. All the long terms made me worse. Cbd only worked for a little bit n then my anxiety became so bad i felt like freaking TF out. Xanax is the only buffer that has helped me thru it. Ativan can kiss my ass. Shit makes you a sleeping zombie

The zoloft didn’t help me much either. I switched to Viibryd and I also took 1mg of Adivan every night to help with sleep. It was just enough to help me fall asleep but I was still able to get up and feed the baby in the middle of the night without feeling groggy or drugged. Once I started getting more sleep my anxiety was less.

Lexapro was the winner for me, they tried a lot of different ones on me even gave me Kolonipin (idk if I spelled that right) and that one just knocked me out. Lexapro did wonders for me and I’ve heard a bunch of other people use it too

I’m not suggesting you don’t keep trying with medication or taking something to help, but I listened to this book (it’s hard to sit down and read a book with little kids) called “Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life” by Byron Katie and Stephen Mitchell. It’s not like magic; it’s a lot of work, but changing my perspective on my life really helped a lot.

Prozac and klonipin as needed. I tried literally every SSRI. This by far worked the best. No weight gain or drowsiness!

This post was mine and I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for your suggestions! I see my doctor soon and will be discussing the medications mentioned and looking into the other suggestions as well :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
