What can I do for tooth pain while pregnant?

I’m 26 weeks pregnant, and I have a tooth I need to get pulled. The dentists won’t pull it until next week. It has caused me serious pain to the point I can’t sleep without waking up in agony. What can I use to help the pain? I’m in desperate need of answers!!

Get some Orajel mouth wash from Walmart. It helped my tooth until I got to the dentist

Find a different dentist. The pain is not worth the wait

I’m in the same boat except my dentist won’t pull til after baby is here. I’ve been doing mouthwash several times a day, paracetamol and weirdly enough peppermint tea. I make the tea, wait til the bag cools down and put it on affected area for 5-10 minutes and drink the tea. Its the one trick I’ve found works.

Take equal part salt with equal part baking soda add few drops of water to make a paste and put that where your tooth hurts.

clove oil works wonders

I had the same problem when I was expecting my daughter after I gave birth to her no tooth it was like it was never there:joy::joy:I’m so sorry I know how you feel I used to bite a dry clothe and it helped till birth

Do not use clove oil! It is highly toxic to pregnant women. Oil pulling with tea tree and coconut oil or find a dentist that specializes in pregnant dental patients.

I used this stuff for awhile and it really helped me :pray:t2: good luck

Take a liquigel (Tylenol, aleve) and puncture it with a push pin, put the liquid directly on the painful tooth. Only thing that ever works for me

Warm and cold compresses help as well as swishing with salt and coconut oil. Spit out afterwards.

Since you’ve been to a dentist I’m guessing it’s not infected. Does it have hole in it? If so buy tooth putty. I actually found some at the dollar store after a friend told me about it. It is just as the name sounds putty for teeth to cover a hole. Can also be found at Walmart by the tooth paste and brushes

Put drops of clove oil on it

My wisdom teeth were coming in during my pregnancy! I got them out 2 weeks after my c section. They said all I could really do was Tylenol and the tube of gel you put on your teeth (I don’t know how to spell it :joy:)

I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled at 28 weeks i was in so much pain and they tried to make me wait but i refused to leave the dentist until they pulled them out they tried to tell me i could go into early labor and i should wait but i said nope do it now they gave me general anaesthetic and pulled them out took about 10mins and they were done and I was fine salt water rinse and panadole for a week after and all healed .
Don’t let then tell you what to do it’s your choice and they can refuse but eventually there will be a dentist that will do it

Clove oil or emu oil

Clove from spouts. Put it right on the tooth.

I laid on a bag of ice and took as much Tylenol as the OB aloud me too and he put me in antibiotics a few times for it cause I couldn’t have surgery to have it removed cause I was high risk

Clove oil or the raw clove itself

I had this throughout both my pregnancies! One thing that helped was sensodyne tooth paste. I would just put some in my finger and put the paste directly on the problem tooth. Good luck!

Mouthwash helped me idk why or how but it did. Tylenol did as well.

Get some clove from the grocery store crush it up make a paste and it will take the pain away but only use a little cuz it could make you sick too much

Have dentist prescribe antibiotics its probably infected

Ibuprofen and acetaminophen together is the only thing that has ever helped me with my tooth pain. I know that’s a little scary pregnant but I really think it will be okay. Swish with peroxide!!

Clove oil or tea tree oil works wonders. I would put a few drops of each in a water bottle and swish it around my mouth for a few mins. Instant relief.
I had to get my bottom wisdom tooth out when I was pregnant with my daughter and had to wait to get the okay from my ob. Of course my tooth started hurting on a Friday night and I couldn’t find any dentists near me that would work on a pregnant lady.

Sensodyne toothpaste has helped me before. Just put some on the tooth and let it sit. If they will call you in antibiotics it would help within a day. Usually there is an infection when you have pain.

Warm/hot salty water and there’s this antiseptic mouthwash you can get it numbs the gums and gives some relief.

Pure vanilla extract. Put it directly on the tooth.

I had this issue and had to get my tooth removed at about 18 weeks pregnant. I had to be prescribed antibiotics continuously until the extraction date, as that was the only thing keeping the infection at bay. Hydrogen peroxide rinses helped with the pain as well. I hope you can find some relief!

I use clove oil. Dip a q tip in the bottle and rub it on the affected area. Tastes nasty, but helps!

If the dentist won’t prescribe antibiotics ask your dr to … I had a horrible toothache at about 8 weeks pregnant and that’s what I had to do

Switch toothpaste to Sensodyne Rapid Relief. I also second antiseptic mouthwash and clove oil.

I had horrible teeth for my pregnancies and the one dr told me to switch advil and Tylenol ( I know not supposed to have advil) however he told me I’d be ok cause I wasn’t to far and I was in sooo much pain. Also I was put on antibiotics 3x day until they were able to take it out. Also warm water and salt will help for so long to get a few hrs sleep I’d leave it in my bathroom and go run to it when I’d wake up if I wasn’t able to take anything at that time. My dentis seen how horrible my teeth got with each pregnancy ( the last time I was at home care on IV for weeks!) I hope you feel better tooth pain is the worst.

Anal ease… good for teething baby too

aural ease u put it where the tooth hurts my kids reckon its great

I just went through on all last week except I’m not pregnant. Honestly nothing at all worked except hydrocodone (which you can’t take) and even that barely touched the pain. The only relief was getting it pulled. Are you on antibiotics cause if not they may be unable to numb the area if it’s too infected (like mine was) and I’m not sure what they will do then. I would keep calling and tell them you are having serious issues everyday and hopefully they can squeeze you in or go to another dentist

I always took Tylenol

I just had some root issues, I still have an active abscess, dentist’s haven’t really been my friend the past few years and that doesn’t seem to change no matter where I go, who i try. I was making an aspirin & Tylenol paste and rubbing that into the affected teeth and it was the only thing giving me any kind of relief. It only lasts an hour or 2 but it would at least help me get to sleep some

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and have had the same issue, I’ve been using clove oil. You can usually find it at the drugstore. I just apply to the tooth using a q-tip.

Call your ob and ask what you can use.

Fresh cloves should get you by until your apt

Clove oil on a qtip apply it to the effected tooth only.

Vanilla extract on a q-tip too will work.

Tylenol and oragel until you can get it pulled. You can also use ice packs and heating pads. I had to have three pulled at 22 weeks pregnant

Lavender oil on your jaw line. Clove on the tooth.

Orajel tooth :tooth: pain relief
