What causes hair loss in babies?

So i wrote a post on here about my babys hair falling out from not washing his hair for 3 days when it had baby oil on it. He did have cradle cap and idk if thats what made it worse by not washing the oil out for those 3 days. Could that be the reason why its falling out? I heard of something called folliclitis and said something about scarring and permanant hair loss. Thats what im afraid of is ruining my babys hair. I have to wait a week to see his doctor.

Am i just being paranoid?

Hair loss is normal if the child was born with hair. They loose most if not all of it within the first few months.

My 3 kids never got cradle cap thanks to baby oil.

Why was it left in for 3 days??

If the cradle cap consists
You can use oil but rinse it out the same day or next morning or use the baby’s shampoo and do circular motions with hos/her brush during bath time

I never went through this with either of my children. Going to the doctor wouldn’t hurt, I mean I know it’s just hair but always better to be safe then sorry.

My son was born with dark/ black hair, all fell out and now he has blond/reddish hair.
When my son had cradle cap, doctor recommended head and shoulders shampoo, I used it and cradle cap was gone by the end of the week. It’s harsher than natural stuff but it worked like a charm.
