What clothes will I need when baby is born?

Looking for advice from mamas who had their baby in the summer. My baby boy is due July 3rd and I’m starting to go through the newborn/0-3 month clothes I kept from my first son. My first son was born in December so I’m trying to decide which clothes I will use for the new baby. I’ve pretty much ruled out any long sleeve onsies, jackets, and fuzzy sleepers with how hot it will be when I give birth (for context, I live in Texas and were already getting days that are in the low 100’s for at least part of the day). Where I’m struggling a bit is whether I should keep any pants out or if baby will mostly be in just a onsie or a onsie and shorts at the most. What did yall find yourselves dressing your summer babies in for the first 3 months or so? Also did you use long sleeve sleepers or just onsies for at night also?

That’s my due date but I’m delivering a week before. I’m also having a first summer baby as my first baby was born in November. He’s 8 so none of his clothes would fit lol. But I agree with the comments of keeping the winter stuff and using onesies.

I needed this! Having my first baby July 9th🥳

I’ve had 2 summer babies! We did onsies and either pants or shorts, and we did long sleeve jammas cause it stays cool inside with the AC on

I had 2 summer babies. Lots of rompers and onsies

I’ve had a summer baby. We lived in onsies. I would keep the winter pj’s, we use em year round. The house stays pretty cool with the ac, so you’ll want them. I’d keep some

Light zipper sleep onesies bamboo ones are pretty light and not super thick great for night time assuming air conditioning is on, and regular short sleeve onesies during the day! That’s all they need the first month or two :+1:t2:

I would sat it depends on hiw much you will be in the ac. Thin pants with a onesie in the cool ac especially at the beginning might be good. And thin long sleeve sleepers for night. But we keep our house pretty cool. Fellow Texan here. Congratulations!

Same!! I’m due July 24th and this is my first summer baby as well. I just got onesies and for the night the usual long sleeved zipped up sleepers. Obviously got cute outfits too for my babygirl (1st girl for me after 2 boys)

My Texas summer baby lived in onsies. I did however have sleepers for nighttime, I had AC on

Following. I’m also due July 3rd. But I live in alaska so definitely not as hot but still pushing 80 degrees

I’d keep them out because sometimes it’s cold inside the house or cold wherever you go indoors

I ended up with mine in just a t-shirt and a diaper most of the time! Or a sleeveless baby vest (onesie?) - the sort with poppers that cover the diaper and a sunhat.

My pediatrician told me if we’re dressed too warm so is baby

If you have him in sir conditioned places, long sleeves and covered legs might be a good thing.

The white onesies at Walmart they breathe really well and they are white so they don’t attract more heat
