What could my symptoms be?

I’m 24 years old and I keep having severe hot flashes and night sweats. I have lost 15 pounds in two weeks. I have no appetite and I’m always tired. All the symptoms keep looking like pre menopause… Yes I have talked to my doctor and made an appointment, but won’t be able to get in for two weeks. Has anyone every experienced these symptoms in their 20’s??

I had the same symptoms, but I was also throwing up… I was diagnosed with crohns.

Thyroid. Diabetes. Or premenopause

Are you on birth control? Have you missed days and took some to catch up? Because that’s happened to me before and it was because I was trying to catch up on my missed birth control lol :woman_facepalming:t4: I had to take medicine to “reboot” my system

It’s very unlikely to be pre menopause. You are very young. It’s not impossible but not likely. Could be a variety of reasons. You won’t know until you get thoroughly checked out with blood work etc.

My first thought was thyroid

I would suspect diabetes or a thyroid issue although you can’t rule out early menopause  hopefully some blood tests will find out.

Sounds like diabetes to me… make sure the sun blood test. Good luck.

I experienced these and was diagnosed with perimenopause and had to change birth control methods. Turns out vaccines can mess with your hormones lol

Check for Lyme disease

Sounds very much like thyroid issues. It can really throw your body off. It could also be a number of other things too. Keep your Dr appointment.

It could be several things. Premenapause, thyroid, hormonal imbalanace, etc. Until you see a Dr and have them run tests, nobody here will know.

It’s signs of diabetes . Happened to my husband. Get your sugar checked

It can be a number of things. I had issues like this, and ended up really sick and hospitalized for 7 days. Diagnosed with 2 autoimmunity disorders. Try not to stress yourself out too much and wait to see your doctor.

Have some tests done love x

Do you take antidepressants? They cause severe night sweats for me.

I’m going to say diabetes. My husband just found out he has in a few months ago. He has lost almost 50lbs so far from it. He’s literally skin and bones it’s so sad. Doctors can’t figure out right meds and diet to get him back to health yet.

Are you experiencing being thirsty all the time? Urinating way more frequent?

Depression or anxiety?

Yes, it sounds like a hyper-thyroid issue.

I started that at 17

Sounds like thyroid please see your gp

Your young age and the dramatic weight loss is very concerning with those other symptoms. I can think of a few things it could be. Please get blood work done ASAP!

Mono? When I had it I could hardly stay awake and I Aldo would wake up at night drenched in sweat.

Call your dr back and insist he see you sooner. Or go elsewhere

Hormones = thyroid problems! Good luck because as a Thyca warrior it’s tough - the struggle is real

Hyper-thyroid not hypo, get treatment fast before you end up with Graves disease

Sounds like Thyroid issues or could be diabetes. Do a complete blood work.

The best thing to do is see your doctor. As quickly as you’ve been losing weight, I think I would try to see if you can get in to see the doctor sooner. There is a variety of things it could be … but keep an open mind until you see your doctor

Losing 15lbs
It’s not premenopausal. Thyroid diabetes

Have you had the Covid vax?

l Get paid over $109 per hour working from home. l never thought I’d be able to do it but my buddy makes over $16803 a month doing this and she convinced me to try. The possibility with this is endless.

I mean obviously no one here is a doctor (unless someone in the comments is, lol) but definitely sounds like thyroid issues. But we could be right or wrong. Maybe diabetes? Who knows. Hopefully the doctor’s appointment goes well, and I hope they figure things out for you! That must be a pain!

Thyroid…diabetes… anything… go to the dr… bloodwork needs done

I had all this and was diagnosed with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, but I had other symptoms on top of it.
Best of luck, I hope it’s nothing too serious

Possible thyroid issue

My gyn told me I was premenopausal turned out to be my thyroid. The best thing the dr can do is a full blood panel for everything

Diabetis or thyroids get to see gp asap or go emergency walk in

Sounds like a thyroid problem

I do have a friend who was through the menopause by 28 but its very rare.
More likely its diabetes

It could be a lot of different things. I would get tested for diabetes and thyroid issues. It could also be some sort of hormone problem. Definitely see your doctor and have him do some digging.

Type 1 diabetes or thyroid - both very treatable but if T1D you need to be seen sooner rather than later

Thyroid. Diabetes. Hormone imbalance (especially if you’re less than a year PP). Pregnancy. High blood pressure.

Take a pregnancy test just in case. I was so sick when I found out I was prego. But everyone else sound ma right also. Check your thyroid and for diabetes

Thyroid and diabetes are the most likely culprit.

Have your doctor check your thyroid

Have them check for Hodgkins lymphoma. Night sweat and weight loss are common symptoms.

I had all these symptoms and more in 2019, I felt like death and it took 6 months for me to feel well again.
I was a medical mystery apparantly as after numerous tests and refferals not one medical professional could tell me what was going on with me :unamused:

Have you recently had any cuts tjat could have got infected…im thinking infection in the body somewhere…or bad teeth…once infection gets into the blood you can develop hot flashes and cold chills off and on? See a doc or urgent care

Go to the doctor soon!

Go to Walmart and buy their rely on accucheck meter and prickers and the test strips. Very inexpensive and can be a life saver. Or go to Walk in clinic and have them check your blood sugar

Thyroid. Exact same thing happened to me. I dropped 32 pds in maybe 10 weeks if that, super hot, heart beating crazy, shaky (especially hands). Mine is hyperthyroid with graves disease.

I had a friend around your age years ago that had the same symptoms and he was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. I’m not saying that’s what it is but be sure to have your doctor check you for everything and voice your concerns with the Dr. I hope it’s nothing serious

Could be your thyroid

Yes I have throid issues

Could be many things. Wait and see what the doctor says. Don’t rely on Internet medical diagnosis.

Did you start any new medication? That happened to me when they started me on an ssnri for my fibromyalgia.

Yep, mine was Hodgkins Lymphoma. :woman_facepalming:t3:

If your on birth control (depo) that could be the cause.

Hyperthyroidism maybe. I kind of had those symptoms before being diagnosed.

Also sound like TB since airports are open . Not every country enforces vacinnes for these things

Type 1 diabetes or any other autoimmune disease

The same happened to me I had hyperthyroidism ( over active thyroid) and Graves disease see Dr asap for blood work

Check you blood sugar

Only time I felt like that was when I was pregnant, sounds like it could be thyroid related maybe?

Hormones are out of wack because of the flood of estrogen you released from the weight loss. Give it some time and it will balance out.

Have you asked your doctor if he will authorize some blood tests before your appointment so that you can discuss those when you go in for your appointment?

I felt like that in my early 20s. I ended up having Graves disease. It’s a type of thyroid disease.

Was the weight loss intentional? If it wasn’t, Not to scare you, but I had very similar symptoms and it was lymphoma. I was 28 when symptoms began and 29 at diagnosis.
