Moms what do y’all do to battle exhaustion? I don’t feel like I’m depressed but I am having such a hard time getting out of bed. I can go to bed and get 7–8-9 hours of sleep and then not be able to get myself up when it’s time to. I can get kiddos up dressed off to school then go back to bed. I’ve definitely always been the type to prefer staying up later, then getting up early. I need to start getup and being productive in the mornings!
Could be anemic, ask gp to check vitamin levels and I’d get your thyroid checked too
Have your iron levels checked!
It’s in my blood go be a night owl. Bed at 1am and up by 5am. I canake myself go to bed at 9pm when my son goes but without fail I’m up 4 hrs later and can’t get back to sleep and I’m EXHAUSTED. The sleep issues, my grandma is in her mid 80s and has the same sleep issue. I’ve tried sleep meds OTC and prescribed and none work. Ive been scanned for tumors, blood draws for vitamin D issues, I’ve tried tiring myself out during the day so I’m mentally and physically worn out to sleep. I’ve been treated for seasonal depression as a try and nothing. I have 3 dogs (65lbs, 70lbs 45lbs) and an autistic high functioning high energy ten year old boy. And nothing has helped. And believe me I’m tired. I could fall asleep instantly and sleep a half hr to an hr and be good to go for a day energy wise but brain and body can’t. I’ve just accepted this is my way of life. Been this way since I was little, even while pregnant and it concerned my doctors I wasn’t getting enough proper rest. I have plenty to makee collapse and sleep for weeks but I just can’t and my grandma being just over 50 yrs older then me and still going through it, I have lost all hope.
When your alarm goes off - GET UP! There is no “5 more minutes” when you get kids ready, off to school then go get yourself ready. Even if it’s just to stay home. Take a shower, do your hair, get dressed, put on makeup. Whatever your “ready” is, do it. If you look good, you feel good.
Have your thyroid checked
Iron deficiency maybe. Take multivitamins.
Do whatever mindless exercise you can to help wake up. I had a rowing machine by my bed. I’d roll out of bed & start rowing while half asleep until my eyes opened. Anything routine/mechanical that you need no thought to do but gets you moving helps.
Also I do as much at night to prepare for the next day so I can just go through the motions using muscle memory to get myself up & out the door. I’d take my showers at night to save time in the am, my kids would change their clothes at night and sleep in their school clothes to save time in the am (only works if your clothes don’t wrinkle). Definitely set out the night before what you’re wearing the next day & do a purse/backpack/organizing check the night before so you’re not scrambling the next day.
Blast pumped up music to help you get moving. Set times for everything so you know you need to be doing X at time Y; up at 7, shower at 7:05, dressed by 7:30.
