What do you use for birth control?

What do moms use for birth control? I wanted my tubes removed but my boyfriend wants a biological one eventually. The mirena made me have horrible migraines depo made me gain a lot of weight the pill made my anxiety go crazy. I’m thinking of the patch? Condoms aren’t an option with him besides when my app says I’m ovulating but i know not to rely on my app welcome baby number 2

I’ve tried everything and the Nexplanon was my favorite.
I’m having my 3rd on the 29th, and plan on getting the Nexplanon on the 1st

I used nexplanon for 6 years and then yaz pill for the last 5. Both worked really well for me, no complaints.

I did the one that goes in your arm and love that I have not had a period in two years

I’m a migraine sufferer, anxiety sufferer and someone who has PCOS and always have suffered easy weight gain. I have the mirena With no issues or complaints so far.
I had the implant and it was horrible for me. The pill also gives me constant migraines but the mirena has been amazing.

Or… hear me out… don’t take anything you don’t want to just for a man. Do you even want another child? It just seems like you are only worried about him when it’s your own body he is taking advantage of.

I like my paragard the second time around

I’ve had the Nexplanon twice now with no complaints. I just had my second one inserted about a week ago after giving birth in July.

Nexplanon. It goes in the arm

I have nexplanon, no periods, no weight gain, lasts 5 years.

Slynd estrogen free pill!

What I’m reading is you want your tubes tied, he doesn’t. You have issues with hormonal birth control, but he doesn’t like condoms. I wouldn’t be making any decisions about my body or health with his opinions in mind. Boyfriend doesn’t seem concerned with what’s best for you!

Nexplanon is probably the best I’ve tried, I tried the patch before a few times but it would lose stickiness too much for me to trust it

Condoms aren’t an option? Why not? I dump his ass.

I took the marvalon 28 pill. It’s low estrogen but works great I took it for years and never got pregnant on it and not alot of side effects especially for mood because the estrogen is low compared to other pills.

Boyfriend - not husband. :woman_shrugging: Do what you want.

Apps just estimate. You can do better using strips to test for LH to better avoid ovulation. Because of clot risk, I can’t do anything hormonal and would have to get paragard or rely on NFP.

Tell him to get a vasectomy until yall are ready

HE wants a biological baby and you can’t use condoms because of him? I got my tubes tied. Best birth control ever

Tell him to get a vasectomy. They can be reversed. It shouldn’t be just on you especially when female birth control is so bogus

Why are condoms not an option?

Why are condoms not an option? Sounds like a new man on the same plan as you I an option…

DO NOT RELY ON THE APP. Speaking from experience  I’ve had issues with BC as well but the only one that my body responded well too was the nuvaring.

Why are you changing your mind on something as important as another child just because he wants one? It’s not his body. I get wanting to compromise on things but a child shouldn’t be a compromise, especially when you are the one that has to carry it and then most likely do everything with it when the man eventually doesn’t do enough helping out.

im on the evra patch and have been on it for 7 years i really like it you no when ur period day is which is nice you can work arond it if your planning a trip and dont want ur period on you vacation and no cramps nothing its 3 weeks on one week off it goes on the outside of ur legs one week then switch to the other leg the other week its a good thing … if ur in canada get a perciption and take it too a health nurse you will get it free .

Poor baby. He needs to take responsibility tooNot fair that you actually jeopardize your live to be safe and he does nothing.

“Doesn’t want to” vs legitimate problems…hmmmm…what to do? (Sarcasm)

Don’t see why he can’t wrap it up. If he doesn’t want to then he doesn’t get laid because the truth of it is that all birth control methods have risks for you and you seem to be sensitive to those medications. Birth control for some women just isn’t a medical option unless you’re content torturing your body, sorry to be blunt but that’s the truth of it. So if it’s simply preference that your partner doesn’t want to wrap it up, then he needs to grow up. I’m not going to bother telling you my horrid stories with it because it’s similar to yours, but I just urge you to really consider whether or not you actually want to be on those medications and want you to feel comfortable in saying no if that’s what you decide. If you want to keep trying them, your best bet is to go and see a gyno or specialist who can assist you in finding something safe.

I mean what does he think will happen without using condoms? You’ll get a fruit basket like I’m confused.

Hi, my method of BC is dating women.

Try the copper IUD. No hormones. Mine caused cramping and heavier flow for a few months but then I went back to normal. I think you can wear it up to 10 years.

I can’t take birth control because my body doesn’t process estrogen very well (causing the same symptoms you are dealing with). I would tell your boyfriend to man up and deal with using condoms.

Condoms aren’t an option why? That doesn’t make sense :woman_shrugging:

Look into the copper IUD, it’s non hormonal. I am not fond of putting FAKE hormones in my body.

Trade the BF in for a man, or a BOB. Either way you’d likely be healthier.

Condoms aren’t an option becaaaaause? I’d tie them tubes if he wants a baby eventually but is too immature to wear a rubber.

Why won’t he use condoms??

The paraguard iud doesn’t have any hormones.

First clue…BOYFRIEND!!!TRY ABSTINENCE…OR CONDOM…HIS CHOICE…

Condoms aren’t an option except when you’re ovulating? Tell him to get over it and wrap it up. If you want somebody to use protection, don’t let them pressure you into not using it and don’t let somebody pressure you into having another child, if that’s not what you want, either. If you are ok with eventually having a child with him, my advice is to use a form of birth control, along with condoms, because it is more effective. I would think that through really hard, before having a child with him, because someone refusing to use protection, when that’s what you want, is a bit of a red flag in my book.

He could always get a vasectomy… :woman_shrugging:

Why are condoms not an option? They have female condoms. Also spermicide.
Or use your calendar as best you can and don’t have s*x at that time.

You want your tubes removed but your bf wants a child?? That doesn’t sound compatible  I recommend tubal removal, it’s great

I’m sorry. But he can use condoms…I use the pill quite frequently, but unless he’s allergic to all brands on the market he’s a red flag…

Since he stopped you from getting your tubes removed then he should get snipped until y’all are ready. It’s safer than bc and completely reversible.

I’m using the mini pill bc reg hormonal BC messes with me. He can either use the condoms or you’ll be refraining from sex bc you do not want another child at the moment. He has to take some responsibility for the reproduction between the two of you.

My advice… don’t use BC. I was on nexplanon for 7 years. It has ruined my body. My hormones are completely out of wack. I have a long journey ahead of me. Wish I never got it

I take the pill along with buspirone for the anxiety.

So wait…you wanted your tubes tied which meant you didn’t want anymore kids but he does so you’ve changed your mind for him? And ‘condoms aren’t an option for him’? If he wants to have sex he’ll use a condom, simple as that :woman_shrugging: sounds like your just letting him run your life for you, find a new boyfriend.

F him make him wear a condom

Your “boyfriend” sounds immature and selfish af.

Truly, natural remedies do work. If they didn’t, we wouldn’t have used them for thousands of years. And, pharmaceutical companies wouldn’t be studying plants, taking extracts of them, and patenting them as drugs.this is not a claim or lies I was totally cured from fibromyalgia and chronic pain by Dr ebemen, His remedy is surely the best. I suggest you try him out if you are having any health challenges and also get cured too, give him a try Redirecting...

Please look at the side effects of all these bc
Bc is POISON to your body.

Nexplanon shouldn’t be allowed on the market.
I went thru hell and back when I got it.
Never again will I put that crap in my body.

Please look on the nexplanon nightmare group on fb before considering it.

Do your research I wish I did.

I say ditch the bf if he can’t wrap it.

Ive tried the yaz pills and Nexplanon and Nexplanon was a living nightmare it made me gain weight horribly and I was the devi walk-in earth my moods was all over the place and would have my period for a month straight then not bleed for 3 months but had every symptom of a period. I had to get mine removed and the day i went to get it removed there wasa lady there getting hers out as well but she was 5 months pregnant hers slipped out of place.

I have tried a lot of different birth control methods and didn’t like any of them and my body didn’t either because of the side effects… migraines and I was bleeding more than anything (a month+) so I decided to try Nexplanon (Arm implant) and I love it! This is the only birth control that doesn’t give me problems… I don’t get the migraines or weight gain or bleeding, I maybe have a period every 5-6 months. I have had Nexplanon for 9 years now, your doctor will insert a new one every 3 years.

I have the Liletta IUD. Lasts about 5 years. I had some nausea and cramp-like pain after it was implanted but it’s like it not even there now. Periods are practically non-existent. I bloat a little and then bleed for 3-4 days and it’s done. No issues so far.
I’m a migraine sufferer but it’s not frequent and I have other health concerns that likely contribute to it (thyroid problems, hormonal imbalances and PCOS)

Ditch the guy! He sounds like a loser anyways!

Paragard. It’s an IUD without hormones. Copper sure is amazing!
