What happens when you have a miscarriage?

:warning: Trigger Warning :warning:

I had a miscarriage about two weeks ago. I started to bleed two Fridays ago but expelled most of it 2 Sundays ago. I’m worried might have an infection. I’m still bleeding and cramping but it’s decreased. I miscarried at home. I really want to avoid a D&C but understand I might have to after all. I’m wondering if anyone of you have experienced problems and what your experience was. Also this is my second miscarriage. I have one child by emergency c section after a painful labor. And I have had painful periods for years. I started when I was 9 and I’m 37. I’d like to have more kids but I’m getting so tired of pain and miscarriages. I’m getting discouraged. Any advanced maternal aged mamas have advice or tips.

Please be kind. I’m grieving and scared. Thank you and God bless.

Please go see a dr. My friend is in the hospital because she bled too much while having miscarriage and has been there for 3 days because her bp is so low. She needed blood transfusions.

I have no answers for you because when I miscarried I almost bled out and had to in for emergency blood transfusions and the d and c. But I will pray for you so that your body will heal and you’ll be able to have the children you want.

Have they had you come in for an ultrasound to make sure there is no more pieces of the babies tissue in you? My second miscarriage they gave me the pill twice and had me go in for an ultrasound, found that 99% of it was gone but there was still some tissue attached to my uterus that looked like it wasn’t gonna come out on it’s own and I ended up having to get a d&c. I tried to avoid it at all cost but doctors thought it would be best. I ended up with a healthy babygirl after and am currently pregnant again so don’t give up hope

Look out for fever, thats one of the indication that you have an infection. But best if you go for an ultrasound to be sure. Huggss❤

DNC will clean everything out and easier to get pregnant with a healthy baby

I kept having miscarriages and I found out that I had an incompetent cervix and that’s what was causing the miscarriages. When I found out I was pregnant with my oldest I had been told that a cervical circlage (my cervix tied shut) would have to be done so that I could carry to term. It was successful and i had 2 more children after that and had the circlage done with both of them also.

Make an appt. I miscarried and spent three days in the hospital and two transfusions.

I’ve had two miscarriages , the first one I didn’t realise what it was until the bleeding continued after the first week. I had pain for one day and bled for about seven weeks until it all stopped. The second miscarriage caused me pain for a couple of days and I bled for 9 days and then stopped. No D&C required as my body did the job without intervention. If you run a fever or start to feel ill I’d recommend seeking medical attention for infection check.
I went on to have a healthy baby girl after my ordeal

Go in and ask for scans to check what’s going on, just to make sure xx

Go see a gynecologist. It’s important. Sorry to hear that you’re having miscarriages but there might be a reason and don’t lose hope you can and still will have a child

I am so sorry for your loss and what your going through… I have 4 kids and have had 3 miscarriages but i had a D n C after each one. I would encourage you to go see you ob to make sure everythings ok bc if you get an infection and it gets bad enough that can prevent you from being able to get pregnant again and hopefully the dr can do some test and tell you why this is happening to you… My cousin had a few miscarriages and finally when she got pregnant the last time she had to give herself shots everyday but was able to carry and deliver a healthy baby so there is hope you just hv to work with your ob to figure out whats going on and what you can do. Good luck to you

Girl I’ve had a few miscarriages myself my first miscarriage look like a murder scene my second two miscarriages wasn’t as bad as the first you just got to grieve and then try again

Better take care of it Cuz lead to bigger problems

Praying… I got horribly sick and was in immense pain days later after a hospital delivery though he had passed in my womb about 2wksearlier… This was extremepain and i hsd tp be rushed to the er where they gave me antibiotics which i normally despise but did work… Might be good to gwt checked out

I’m so sorry what you are going through, and very sorry for your losses. My advice is to go to the gynecologist ASAP. You don’t want that infection to spread. Once you’ve done that, I would go to a specialist, a high risk OBGYN.

Anything you are worried about get looked at

You do need to get checked out. I have a friend whose sister died from an infection when part of the placenta was left inside.
I’m sorry for your losses, and best of luck to you. :heartbeat:

Go get checked for health reasons.

Have the D & C done to be on the safe side, I miscarried and still had no sign of wanting to discharge baby after 3 weeks so went in for D & C and ended up pregnant 3 months later but maybe you can figure out if something chromosomal is happening. We found out our little man had a rare chromosome syndrome and if we had him to term he most likely would have passed soon after birth. But they will help you in the future to keep pregnancies if they figure out whats causing miscarriages.

I have had 9 miscarriages. After the last one, I had my tubes cut. I was in my late 20s when I had that surgery. You should go to the doctor to get checked out at least. When I was 37, my husband and I adopted. That was almost 12 years ago. She was and is worth the wait. Good luck to you, and again go to the doctor. It is important in case there is infection or something. You can become septic and die. We don’t want that for sure!

I had anirher miscarriage after that and they foynd a3 mon fetus and 1mon fetus.

You should definitely go get checked, sorry for your loss :broken_heart:

Go to your GYN and pour your heart out to the Dr…Not all of them are in a hurry to rush you in!! I’ve had a D / C, it’s nothing to be frightened of!!!

I have a bad miscarriage history and I’m your age. Make sure they check your thyroid levels if you fall pregnant again. I switched doctors and they believe this has been my problem all along. Not all OB check thyroid during pregnancy even though it causing miscarriage and brain developement issues.

I bled for 8 weeks after mine so I went in for a sono. The sono showed a pocket of fluid but I stopped bleeding the next day.
