What is it like getting a tubal?

I’m having my 3rd baby in August and I’ll be getting my tubes tied while I’m in the hospital. Can anyone tell me what to expect? How was the pain? Did they put you to sleep? Just very curious.

I had a c section so they did it then

I had mine tied after they pulled her out via csection. Longer healing time. I’ve had 4 csection and this one was the worst.

Didn’t really hurt that much, kind of made me feel like less of a woman afterwards

They did mine during my c section. My recovery was the same as my previous c section

It was a really simple, fairly painless experience. I had mine done about 6 weeks post delivery. Yes they put you to sleep.

Getting my tubes removed was the best thing! They put me to sleep, removed the tubes and then when I woke up it was soon time to go home. Unfortunately due to my doctor’s refusal I couldn’t get mine done until my son was 7. I don’t know what it’s like to have birth and tubes out same day.

I’ve had two c-sections - first was emergency and the second was planned. They did my tubes during my second and honestly, the second time around was a breeze for me.

I felt horrible the first 3 days, then started to feel much better. Back to normal in 2 weeks

I had mine with a c section but I had horrible cramps ever after till my hysterectomy

May make recovery a little bit longer but shouldn’t be too bad…:: I had mine done a few years after my last child but literally felt like a bad period no worse in my opinion

I had a natural birth. Had my tubes cut and burned after that. About an hour. Was in a little pain. Not to bad.

Had my 4th c section back in March and got mine tied. Recovery was no different than my previous c sections I actually felt like I recovered faster and better this time around. Good luck!

I’m nervous… I’ll be doing the same in August.

You need to sit down and talk to your doctor.:smiling_face::smiling_face:

I had mine done after my 4th child. They didn’t put me to sleep but I have had to have cesarean with all my children so I was already open so they just did it before they sewed me back up.

I got my tubes tied the day after I had my daughter. Pain was almost unbearable first 24 hours. I had bruising from my diaphragm to my groin from the surgeon pulling so hard. Pain is worst first 24 hours, after that it’s tolerable if you keep on top of pain killers

I had mine tied a few hours after my daughter was born went home the next day never had any problems

I got mine done after my daughter was born, and I drove a 24 hour road trip the day after. The pain isn’t that bad. Only time I really had pain was if I bent over or coughed.

Honestly my last child was born 6 & a half yrs ago & i don’t even remember lol so it couldn’t have been too bad :joy:

I’m due in August with baby 3 and I’m getting my tubes removed also

I was under general anesthesia so awake. All I felt was pulling and tugging. I also had a caesarean but I had one before. It took a little longer to heal. Not much difference between the 2 except that for me.

I was encouraged to wait because they can be swollen and then will untie. When I had them done 3 mths after my son was born I told them to cut, tie, staple, or burn them off. I did not want to get pregnant again.

Had a C-section so mine was done at the same time after delivery… recovery was the same as after my 1st C-section…

I had a natural birth. They put me to sleep, cut, tied and burned. The worst part was the steri strips but there really wasn’t much pain and recovery was easy. Having my gal bladder removed was worse

I just had a C-section the 29th and had mine done as well and idk if what I’m going thru is bc of that or just other issues with the C-section but I have had a horrible recovery I still can barely hold my son I’m not trying to scare you just being honest
