Just curious on somebody Mama’s who bake but aren’t Bakers and aren’t very good at decorating cakes my mom’s birthday is coming up and we’re doing a little cookout for her birthday and I wanted to make her a cake but what is the best frosting for decorating that won’t melt over and made that mistake last year and it didn’t turn out the way I wanted I need a good frosting and something that will look good when you do letters as well not that candy letters stuff any help would be appreciated thank you

I make a sheet cake. Then once it’s done and cooled a bit I put the plastic can of frosting in the microwave for 10-20 seconds and pour it over the top. It comes out smooth and creamy. I get the candles shaped into “Happy Birthday” or cake decor that spells out “Happy Birthday” and then I only have to shakily write the name: Mom, Patty, Uncle Joe, Mikey, etc. In gel.
Pre-made frosting and decorating tubes. Make sure your cake is fully cooled before you decorate
