Keto works great if you’re dedicated to it, and make sure your body is getting what it needs to be safe.
If not you could try reducing the number of carbs and sugar you consume.

Try the Mediterranean Diet… it’s much healthier!

It works well, but don’t do it too long. Ketosis is not a state your body is meant to be in permanently

Wouldn’t recommend the keto diet for long term results! It’s a quick fix plan !

My boyfriend does it. We meal prep for him every week. There’s keto-ish (eating high fat and protein and low carb), and then there’s KETO (tracking macros and tracking every meal, while lowering caloric intake). He has keto coffee (black coffee with heavy whipping cream), then breakfast (egg, egg whites, and heavy whipping cream scrambled together, with bacon, avocado, and jalapenos on top), then lunch (130g chicken breast, 4-5 broccoli florets, a handful of pistachios), then a snack (3 boiled eggs and 3 cheese blocks), then protein shake (adds dextrose to fuel his work out; goes to the gym an hour and a half or so each day; very active), then dinner (220g pork tenderloin with ranch). But those numbers and our recipes are done to meet his macro/caloric need. As he drops weight we adjust the numbers. He also eats the same thing every day. If that’s not something you’re prepared to do keto prep will be more difficult if you’re doing true keto. A lot of people choose to focus on identifying keto-ish foods and sticking with those because doing legit keto can be pretty complicated and inconvenient. Weight loss still happens, just a bit slower. Lots of people have varying opinions but I know for a fact that his body responds to a keto diet more effectively than any other. Every body is different and has different nutritional needs. Pay attention to your body and utilize annual, routine bloodwork to keep an eye on what changes are happening on that level. A real concern is watching what you eat on days that you veer off of the diet. If you’re in a state of ketosis and go over board on sweets and stuff you’re going to have a diabetic spike and then crash and it’ll be rough. You have to be aware and informed and careful

Talk to a dr about a healthy diet and exercise plan for your body type and goal weight. Keto isn’t a good lifestyle

Check out the Super Shred Diet on Amazon. It’s a book. My mom found it and we were supposed to do it together but she backed out and I said well I’ll do it and see if it even works. I lost 17lbs in 3 1/2 weeks. There are two programs. 6 week and 4 week. Super shred is the 4 week. I’m about to start it again. Read the book. Each week is different calorie intake and times to eat. And he explains what the purpose of each week is. And you drink a ton of water. It works if you stick to it and do the minimum amount for a workout each day (there are rest days too).

All I can ever think of when people say Keto is Keto crotch :see_no_evil:

My endo suggested the “omelette diet”… make an omelette. Open your fridge and you can throw in any and all veggies and meats you want and go to town! Lol I did that for 3 months! Lost 30 lbs and conceived my first child despite being diagnosed with PCOS!

Download my fitness pal to track your macros, join a Keto beginners group on FB, decide if you want to do dirty Keto or clean Keto. Pinterest has some of the best recipes. My husband typically eats: breakfast- eggs, bacon, avocado or bullet proof coffee. Lunch is always leftovers and dinner is protein with a veggie and a fat bomb for dessert. If is craving something simple sweet he eats blackberries and almond milk reddi wip

Extreme change usually doesn’t stick long term. I’d recommend exploring a habit based approach. Check out the Balance 365 Life Podcast and Healthy Habits Happy Moms Facebook group. These resources were so eye opening to me.
