What kind of birth control are you on?

What kind of birth control are you ladies on? How do you like it? What kind of side effects do you have from taking it? I was taking the mini pill but I don’t like it. And yes I know all bodies are different but I just want to hear experiences. Thank you in advance!

None. It’s terrible for your body so I just track everything.

Don’t use depo provera!! There is a black box warning that if used for more than 2 years, it will destroy your bones. It was denied 3 times by the FDA before being approved for women, but it was originally made for male sex offenders. I was supposed to go for my shot July 2019. I didn’t stop bleeding until January 2020. Horrible horrible.

I’m on the injection been a year now for the first 2 times as it’s every 3 months I had no periods but the last time I had it I had terrible headaches about a week before my next shot and then this time I’m due it in a week I’ve been bleeding for about a month nothing much just when I wipe not enough to use any pads or nothing but just annoying

I am on the non hormonal IUD. I tryed the pill, been on the shot and this is the best choice I ever made hands down.

Currently pregnant, I plan on going back on nexplannon once baby is born.

I did have some weight gain while on the nexplannon (30 pounds)
But was also on chemotherapy, which I was told is the more likely culprit.

It can always be removed if you don’t like what it’s doing to your body.

I got my tubes cut out because I couldn’t handle birth control. It made me crazy. And no matter if we were careful or not I’d always end up pregnant. Sooooo the best decision was tubal

Nexplanon implant… had it for almost 9 years (needs to be swapped out every 4-5 years). Love it, no issues from it, and I haven’t had a period since 2017. I’ve heard bad things about it from some ppl, but nothing but good experiences with me… but not everyone can handle certain types of birth control… I’ve tried several (pill, patch, ring, depo) and had horrible side affects/complications…

DEPO shot. No noticeable side effects. Had IUD, bad experience with that(pain/pressure, did not stay in place, which I was told is rare)

I had the 10 year copper iud for 8 years. I loved it! I did notice that towards the end of having it my periods were getting heavier but that could also be from age as well. That was the only birth control we used and never got pregnant. I just had my second kid 12 years after my first one and got my tubes tied. No more kids for this mama. I hope you find what works best for you. Side note I suck at taking pills everyday so it was nice not to have to worry about that with the iud.

I’m on a seasonal pill so every three months I get a new pack… I do skip my placebo week also… I don’t have any side effects really… I tried new ones until I found one that didn’t drive my hormones crazy… Just remember when you try a new pull or bc in general give it 6 months or so for your body to fully adjust to the new hormones before deciding it isn’t or is the right own for you

I had the FemBloc permanent sterilization procedure in 2018 as part of the final clinical trial for long-term effectiveness. This is the only contraception I’ve used that has been effective. I like that it is non-hormonal, leaves no foreign material behind, and was a simple outpatient clinic procedure. Risks and recovery was similar to a vasectomy for men. I don’t know when it will be available to the public but I hope soon. You can learn more about it on the Femasys website linked below:
