What should I color my kids hair with?

My girls are 6 and they are wanting some color in their hair for summer… any recommendations on how I can put some colored high lites in it with something that isn’t going to be bad for their hair

Several years back, I used kool-aid for my daughter’s hair. She has brown hair and I used red and purple kool-aid. The color kept her hair tinted for two years! I just dyed the bottom 4-5 inches. It lasted through two hair cuts and finally most of it was cut out. I always heard kool-aid was temporary and wouldn’t last long, but it sure held to my daughter’s hair.

Hair chalk- please don’t dye it- heard koolaid works but also heard horror stories about it messing up hair. Or even get some colored hair spray like they have out during Halloween. A temp suggestion but maybe different colors would help. That’s how I done my girls when younger and they were happy for the day.

I used colourd tissue paper, the stuff used for crafts. I soaked purple in water and once the water turned purple i dipped my hair in, it worked great.

I just use vegan temporary dyes on my child who’s 4.5. I have a split dye and dye my blonde side funky colours so I wasn’t surprised when my kid asked to dye their hair too. It’s just hair, if it stains it can be cut out or grow out. Their children, let them live. Manic panic works good. Seems to fade out of my California surfer blonde kiddo.

I use semi permanent dye that washes out I’ve had mine since Feb/March and I will say blur sticks the longest but if you use anything g9od dye young is been the best brand I’ve ever used and it didn’t damage my hair

Darker blue is from Feb and lighter is now

If they are blonde already, I’d use Kool aid.
That’s what I use on my kids.

I used this brand on my 5yo. It washed out within a month, no stains & I don’t see any damage to her hair. (She’s already blonde, and this was SO bright.)

Kool-aid works I have a friend 73 that has gray hair she does hers for every holiday the thing is it’s very nice but personally when it fades it looks horrible no matter if professional done or not hair coloring is if you keep it up looks great but seeing roots till the grow out looks awful and I was a hair dresser but to each their own

I used Kool aid when my daughter was that young and wanted color. Mix it with hot water in a bowl and have her lay her head back and doak hair for a bit. The wrap it for awhile then wash out. Worked great and multiple colors.

Food coloring. It will wash out and it won’t harm their hair

We use manic panic on my daughters hair . It works really well and our salon recommended it .

My 6 year old loves colorful hair. I let her use hair chalk.

My ex mother in law is a hair dresser. Told me if you use non permanent hair color like punky it’s fine. Just don’t use processor. My daughters are almost 11 and 7 and their hair is perfectly fine :slightly_smiling_face:

Coloured tissue paper homebargains 99p it’s great

We used some food color? So we just just got some boiling water and the we added the color an dipped the hair in’s it or we were waiting for the water to be okay so we could put it in all the hair

I would do hair wraps with embroidery thread. Cheap and easy to change out for new colors.

Arctic fox, manic panic, crazy color, punky color, Brad Mondos brand.

All hair dyes you don’t need bleach with if your hair is light colored already. They’re all non permanent colors.

Artic fox and manic panic are vegan dyes.

Google dying hair with Kool aid… Me and my nieces did it and it was so fun. Washed out after about 10 washes
