What to do for an eye infection in babies?

My almost 5 month old looks like she has a little eye infection. Should I take her to urgent care or wait til Monday? It’s pretty cold out and I didn’t wanna take her out if I don’t have to.

Take her to pediatrician. She’ll get antibiotics eye drops. Wipe her eyes with a soft cloth or towel with warm water. Corner of eye toward nose- if you wipe from nose area to corner, it spreads the infection through the entire eye… I worked Peds…

I wouldn’t put anything in her eyes without speaking to your pediatrician first. I’d call your pediatricians office number and ask to talk to a nurse or the ped themselves!

Wipe gently using warm salty water from by nose outwards. Use cotton wool or q-tips and a fresh one with each wipe. If it’s not improved in a couple of days, you’ll need antibiotic eye drops.
