What to do for lower back pain in pregnancy?

Hey moms! I am a stepmom to a five-year-old boy and am pregnant with my first baby girl! I am 35 1/2 weeks pregnant. Just wondering what are the best ways to help with lower back pain and Braxton Hicks! Mine are getting SO BAD! THANKS

You can try lidocaine patches only the 4% is over the counter but you can ask your dr about getting a prescription for the 5% I tried them they didt work for me but a lot of my patients swear by them🤷‍♀️

My yoga ball was my saving grace. Being able to sit and kinda squat helped my back soooo much

Get a rebozo! They’re amazing and you can wrap them around your lower belly to help with lower back pain, hip pain and round ligament pain. This is one of the ways I wrap mine to help and it’s a huge relief during pregnancy and during labor! Also get a tens unit. You can use them in pregnancy and in labor to reduce pain. I use mine on days my back is super sore and the rebozo alone isn’t enough. Between the two it always gets rid of my back ache though.

A belly band and sounds awful, but exercise or stretching. Look up some pregnancy back stretches online. There are a lot of resources. Good luck mama! Almost there!! This is coming from a mama of 5. Most recently, 7 month old twins

I ended up having to go see a chiropractor and turned out my pelvis was out of place just enough to pinch a nerve making it impossible for me to get up by myself. My hubby had to help me up a lot no matter where I was at

Well I have had 6 children, my twins are 8 months old and despite having a herniated disc I have had no back pain during any of my pregnancies. Maybe its these wide child bearing hips  :woman_shrugging:t4:. Wish I could help.

I was given muscle relaxers by my OB. Helped a ton. I was only allowed so many for a certain amount of time of course. But my OB was also great chiropractor and put me back into place with each visit which helped a ton. But you need an experienced, REAL chiropractor. I went to only 1 who cracked my neck and told me to come back if I wanted to feel better because it requires multiple appointments. that’s when my OB stepped in and I realized it’s hard to find a good, trustworthy chiro

Invest in a good belly band if you can! That and staying hydrated were the only things that worked for me late in my pregnancy

Get a 60 mins massage find someone that’s really good. That’s how my back pain is going away.

They have support braces at the pharmacy that help. Saved me I had 2 two yr old girls when I was pregnant with my son. My little sister who is to be super clingy and wanted to be picked up all the time. And my boyfriends daughter and if one was being picked up the other had to be. They were raise as twins pretty much

Yoga ball and a heating pad were my saviors when I was pregnant with my daughter. I am now expecting my 2nd

This is a question you might like to ask your nurse midwife or ob.
