What to put in a Christmas basket for a 15 year old?

My daughter has a friend who is 15 years old and her parents haven’t bought her anything for Christmas for the last six years. I don’t know why and I have never met her parents. She hangs out at our house and spends the night and is such a sweet girl. My daughter asked if we could make her a basket, like a boo basket, but for Christmas. I am thrilled to do this for her but I don’t have a lot of money so I’ll need to bargain shop. I have no idea what atuff to get.

Go to the dollar tree…. Get a hairbrush, hair clips, face masks, nail polish, makeup if she wears it, lip gloss and maybe some candy. If you find a good deal on some slippers and pjs that would be awesome or maybe even some friendship necklaces or bracelets

Movie gift card and popcorn. Deck of cards. Socks. Gum. Mitts. Earrings. Nail polish. They might be Jehovahs Witnesses … they don’t do gifts or Christmas, I believe.

Maybe some snacks, make up or skin care products, a blanket, gift card. O would steer clear of just Christmas related items. She will get more use out of everyday stuff

You could go to dollar tree and get a lot of good items for 1.25 up to 5.00$. I work at dollar tree and a lot of people have come in and bought stuff for baskets. So for a 15 year old get a basket fill it with her favorite candies & snacks. Put some hair accessories like hair ties, the big clips, headbands a new brush. Some makeup. Get a body wash you think she would like and a loofa. Dollar tree has some really cool socks all different characters, movies even snack items on them or you can get her some fuzzy socks. Dollar tree also has some adult coloring books you can get her those with some colored pencils. You could have a journal and a set of cute pens. But dollar tree would be the way to go and they got a bunch of cute Christmas stuff

Ultra has a bunch of stuff 5 for $10.00. I just got a bunch for my granddaughters stocking today. Lip Gloss, foot & hand masks, lotion, bath droplets, mirrors, hair accessories, and more! Great stuff for teens.

One medium size stuffed animal. Something some older kids appreciate but would never ask for.

Nail polish lip gloss gift cards are the best that way she can pick out what she wants pajamas bath stuff etc

Not to sound like that person, but could it be for religious reasons? As a parent i would absolutely seek approval from her parents 1st.

Bath and Body has their body spary on sale for 5.95 right now. You could at pajama bottoms from Walmart.

Makeup jewelry perfume body spray fingernail polish candy

Blanket gloves scarf socks jewelry and makeup

Ask her what sort of stuff she likes and go from there
As teenage girls chop and change
See if there are any community groups or churches such as Salvo’s
Who does Christmas hampers and gifts
Perhaps you could put your name on a list
You can often pick things for teenage girls
Perhaps you could put together a small gift basket of things like body wash , bath Salts, and stuff
Like that
Try and hold off
Buying clothing
As they grow out of them fast
Perhaps even get a food hamper
For her parents
Not everyone can afford to spend money at Christmas
But good on you for having a beautiful heart

I would make sure her family celebrates Christmas. Some religions like the Jehovah Witnesses don’t celebrate Christmas. It’s a nice idea. Just be careful you don’t step on toes.

Shop bath and body works for her. Bodycare is $6 now.

Skincare sets are a huge thing for teen girls, buy for her as you would your own daughter! Shop sales especially with Black Friday coming! Makeup, bath bombs, hot chocolate, candy/chocolate, slipper socks as it’s hard to buy if you don’t know the foot size, spa headband, pjs, wireless ear buds (can get inexpensive ones on amazon), earrings, belt bag, cute tumbler (Marshall’s), perhaps a pre-made gingerbread house to decorate so she has something to do Christmas Day?! Or Can you invite her to have dinner with your family?

You could go to the Dollar Tree they have good socks and many other things that she would enjoy just walk down each aisle

Go to the dollar store. .

Makeup, pjs, hair accessories, a couple shirts

Make sure it isn’t due to religious reasons as if it is and you give it on holiday or it has holiday themed items she will not be able to keep it. If it’s due to financial matters then cozy fuzzy socks, pajamas, jewelry items, hair care items, small make up and/or self care items and snacks.

First I’d find out what is really going on. Are the parents neglectful or need help financially? Or is there religious or cultural reasons they haven’t bought her gifts. If the reason is financial talk to the mom & find out what she needs or wants. Then post on local groups & see if the community can help you fulfill the list.

Make up, hair products, skincare, socks, blanket, nail polish

Nail polish, face cleanser wipes, hair ties, favorite sodas, candy, chips ect all from dollar tree basket everything could do a pretty cool one for under 20 I think

If she’s a girly girl, go to the drugstore for nail polish, makeup like lip gloss & mascara, hair accessories, maybe a face mask, tools like an eyelash curler, nail file, nail polish remover, makeup brushes or sponges, etc.

Do you have a dollar tree or dollar store? I bought makeup, socks, candles, coloring books, markers/crayons, toiletries and candy.
I helped raise many of my daughters friends while raising my 4 as a widow! She’ll love an appreciate anything you give her

I will try to find out why they haven’t bought her anything just to not overstep or get her in any problems with her parents .
Slippers , fuzzy socks , makeup , chocolates are cheap and good options.

I used to babysit a little girl years ago since she was two years old, when she was five she practically lived with me, her mom asked me if I could keep her for Christmas one year ( she was Jewish) so they did not celebrate Christmas , I did bought her some gifts to give her for New Year because that was what her mom did every year.I told her that I do not have a problem keeping her but that if she want it her to stay she will celebrate with me and my family and that we will give her our presents on Christmas Day , becasue I will not feel Oky with everyone opening presents but her , thankfully she agreed and she had a blast

If you have a savers near by they do lots of cheap things. Body spray, face masks, foot masks, shower gel, make up.

Arm sprays bath bombs talc powder candles face creams ect

I’d call it a holiday basket and avoid Christmas themed items just for possible cultural sensitivity. Lip gloss, socks, a favourite book, and snacks - homemade even better.

Cozy blanket, pj’s, candle, hand lotion, gift card to Starbucks, bracelets,

How about having your daughter shop with you since she knows!

Right now all full size body mists, lotions and body washes are $5.95 at Bath and Body works. I’d choose a scent and get all 3 for $18. Then maybe fuzzy socks, candy, face masks and lip gloss.

We live in a very strange time.if this child frequents your house alot I’d be in touch with parents.so many people just assume their children are ok because they have phones etc.ask their permission.you may gain insight into why they don’t exchange gifts.so many reasons pop into my head.by asking you’ll open the lines of communication which could end up benefiting you later especially if your daughter goes to their home as well.communication is key to understanding…if the child isn’t receiving gifts from her parents I’m sure whatever you do will be apreciated.

OK not to sound negative BUT… talk to the parents… I had a teenager who was a neighbor, he would come over every year on Christmas and say he got a sweater, shirt, pen whatever. One year he said his mom bought him a 5k computer then took it back because he got an A- in a class…
Years later after talking to the parents we found out that kid was just a harcore compulsive liar that was in fact spoiled as hell.

That age boys and girls are usually into hair, (shampoo and cream rinse, hair brushes)
facial, nail products. Make up and brushes, (eye shadow, mascara, blush, lip gloss) skin lotions, hair elastics, if long hair. Small coin purses; wristlets. Footie socks, and warm ankle socks, slippers. Body sprays and powders.

Go to the dollar tree and get hair ties nail polish makeup brush all the girly stuff teenagers love!!!

Definitely check out mighty dollar, dollar tree, or similar in your area. I use plastic baskets, buckets, cups, anything big enough to fill with stuff. You can do snacks, socks and mittens, hygiene supplies, makeup, hair accessories, gift cards, etc. I always do this for my baby (almost grown lol) cousins at Christmas. I’ve made them buckets since they were little bitty.

Face mask,candle,lip balm,scrunchies,perfume
A nice pen,inscence,a nice ornament,silk/satin pillowcase,bath salts,bath bombs,body mist,picture frames

Body sprays, chapsticks, nail polish, snacks, compact mirror, mittens, cute winter hat, fuzzy socks, maybe a small cross body purse, throw blanket, hair accessories (scrunchies, hair clips, etc), cute mug with cocoa, slippers

Black friday shop! Soft Pajamas, some body spray and lotion, a soft blanket, some sweet treats that she likes, etc

Get your daughter’s input

I didn’t get anything for Christmas for the better part of my childhood either (I think my Mom told me Santa wasn’t real when I was about 5/6 bc she didn’t have the money for Christmas) shortly thereafter she started dating a real POS, developed a drug addiction, and it was all down hill from there. IDK this girls situation, but letting this child spend the night at your house and doing this means more then you’ll probably ever know, id take your daughter with to go shopping, give her a budget, and let her help. There’s lots of kids out there that need love and Christmas should be special for everyone
