What vitamins are important for women’s health? I’m so tired of being drained all the time and constantly not feeling the best. I’m wanting things that will help with mood, skin, hair, nails, gut health is a big one since I have ibs, I don’t eat the best either so anything that may fill in for the vitamins & minerals I am not getting naturally from eating the right things would also be helpful. I have no clue where to start. What do other mamas take?
I’ve always taken prenatal vitamins
I take a multivitamin, iron, magnesium, turmeric, omega 3-6-9, milk thistle, a probiotic and Armra Immune Revival
The most impactful thing I did was to start taking a Multi B Vitamin. It’s call Stress B Complex, it’s made by a company called Thorne. I was in a near state of adrenal collapse from years of suffering from high cortisol, stress, and adrenal fatigue. It was causing my Thyroid to malfunction too. It was like night and day for me once I started the Stress B.
But I would really recommend seeing a naturopath. They will want you to get a full blood work profile done to see where you might be lacking.
I am also now taking Omega 3, Magnesium Bi Gylcinate and Vitamin D3, she also recommended a Probiotic and Collagen but I have yet to start those.
Definitely see your Dr to see if your thyroid function (etc…) is normal. For gut health, prebiotic are helpful, I like Activia drinkable ones.
Try care of……u take a quiz of what your looking for and any health concerns and it tells u what will be good for you….it’s a bit expensive but I really like it I make sure and budget it in!
My doctor always says just take what you’re lacking. At my physical I had bloodwork done. I needed vitamin D, so I just take that. I have heard mixed reviews that they don’t do much as far as health benefits so I chose to not spend the money. Thought this article is interesting. No matter what consult your doctor for what you would need.
I’ve been taking D3 and B12 since 2020 and recently added magnesium and ashwagandha. My nails are super strong and need to be filed every 3 weeks or so and my hair has never been so long
Vitamin D3 get a prescription
Rather than take supplements: EAT RIGHT - vitamins are in food, right?
I have taken these for years - 40 at least … they have everything you need - I promise. I have studied nutrition.
Biotin for hair, skin and nails
Magnesium for joint and muscle
Calcium to prevent brittle bones
B12 and D3 to help with absorption and mood.
Take folate if you’re trying to conceive
I get this done now and I’m personally working on my health. Consider talking to your doctor about this - request blood work and it will and - may factor what can be actually causing this low energy - you might have low iron - low B12 - low Vitamin D - low in red blood or white blood cells - so many things it can be - & this will be helpful to pin point exactly what you need. I have my chart with my doctors and hospital love it cuz I see my own results to compare things from years ago or now.
Nurse here. You technically should only be taking supplements that you’re deficient in.
