I think he was about 3 months his first time.

I think that’s too early because you can’t (or aren’t supposed to) apply sunscreen to a baby less than 6 months of age…

I took my 2nd son everywhere when he turned a month old. We flew back to my hometown, went to beach. That was 13 yrs ago. Im too paranoid to do anything with my 6 month old girl

All of my children were on a boat within two to three weeks of being born and taken to a beach we live on the water we live on our boat practically daily.

I personally have waited until 6 months of age because they can’t wear sunscreen until then

Swimming lessons first baby an me at the y.

I put my one month olds feet in my aunts pool. It was super hot out, and he liked it.

Also, if you need a sunscreen that’s safe for babies… I use badger baby. It didn’t cause any chemical burns (because there aren’t any unsafe chemicals in it) on him. I’m sure by now he would be sick or something if it hurt him.

I took my oldest to the beach when he was about 3 months, we sat mostly in the shade and I took him in the water with me, even bought an over priced floaty I hardly used but I wouldn’t suggest a water park or anything too costly until your babies at least 1

My baby was in a pool at 2 weeks (for like 5 minutes at a time)… And LOOOOOOOOOVES water now. Keep him shaded and you’ll be fine

i took my son about 5 months. it doesnt really matter when as long had your taking the appropriate precautions. obviously they cant be outside in the sun for 2+ hours

I wouldn’t put a newborn baby in a lake or ocean . Too much bacteria and their little bodies have zero defense… once a baby turns 6 months I think their immune system is a little more built . I have a 4 month old son and I have a pool but the water is too cold to put him in. So we are sitting this summer out. Next year will be a blast though

I waited until atleast 2mos so they had shots in their system to build some type of immunity. Allergies still may arise but that’s all good to build immune system too. Cant keep baby in a box.

my son was 5 days old his first time. we bought a shaded float and he still won’t get out of the water!!!

Just do whatever you’re comfortable with and protect him from heat and too much sun exposure

You can definitely take him out, however he’s too little for sunscreen so you’d have to keep him covered up and/or shaded and you’ll be good to go!

Mine was 6 months when we went to the pool for the first time. Wasnt there very long… then after that he was almost 2 before we went again

My kids were in the water as soon as they lost their umbilical cords.

My son was 6 months when I first took him and he did great

Small babies can not regulate their body temperature as well as adults, so it’s suggested to not take a baby in a pool that isn’t heated. I forget the age of when they can safely be in an Unheated pool or body of water (I think 6 months) but a simple google search will tell you.

Water park he needs to be able to walk to enjoy it

People told me to wait till he was 6months because of the sensitive skin but I didn’t listen and my son was fine . I like put him in a floaty so he wasn’t completely in the water or In a little boat so he just was completely in.

My oldest got in a pool at 3 months old. 2nd was born in November so she was about 6 months old. 3rd kid at 2 months old. We bought her a float with a shade roof and put baby sunscreen on her 100 SPF. 4th has lots of health issues and just swam for the first time last week on his 1st bday. In 10 years none of my 4 kids have been burnt. We stay in the pool at go on a vacation to the beach every year.

We started going to the swimming pool just after 2 months. Once he had his first set of shots.

I used to take my kiddos all the time until I found a condom floating in the pool, throw up and a terd in the pool. I was more than done.

I took my babies at 4 months. They spent the summer at the pool every summer and love the water. Out of the water I put them in a pack n play with a sheet over the top and in the water a floatie with a sun shade

4 months. I live in South Florida and the water is everywhere.

Idk when I first took mine but pretty sure I waited too long lol…there are so many hacks now for keeping babes in the shade just make a good plan for that and make it a place where baby can nap and you can put them down a little bit safely. When my kids were toddlers I freaked out about dry drowning and we did splash pads forever  not proud of how overly cautious I was but I think it came from my sin being born in critical condition so for the first few years of his life I was super over vigilant even though he was perfectly fine my mind and heart hadnt healed from the experience yet I guess but I do feel like they missed a ton of fun while I worked out my cray cray! Lol

Think about diseases. Maybe try a baby pool with just your baby. 3 months old… Your baby’s immune system isn’t it’s best.

We went to the dells when my youngest was 3 months but she didn’t go into the water at all

I wanna take my son swimming at the beach but he puts everything in his mouth at this age (7m) and I worry about him trying to eat sand our drinking the lake water…

My son was 10 days young when he went on a beach trip, never put him in the water thou. He was 1 month young when we went camping and we put him in the river water. He loved it. His now 2.6 years young and loves camping and water

As long as they r protected from the sun…and are safe in the water. Safety first always.

We live in Florida and I had my son in the pool at 2 months, covered pool float, hat, sunglasses and now he loves anything that has to do with water

They’re no strangers to water! IMHO the younger the better!

When ever you feel comfortable think like the pioneers they didnt have heated pools oh how did we survive

Both of mine were just under 2 months. I had asked if we should wait for vaccinations but were told it wasn’t necessary. Both of my kids are little fish!

I took mine swimming at 2 months old. He loves water now at a year old so

My oldest was like 2 weeks old I dipped her in lake

I waited until 4-5 months

As soon as you feel comfortable! I took my son to the pool at just six weeks old. My daughter also had to wait till she was 6 weeks old only because i had surgery and couldn’t walk. But as soon as i could we took the kids to the island on the boat and camp every weekend. As long as they have a life vest that fits correctly they can go on boats. Pools and beaches are at your discretion, just please protect from sun and don’t use the spray sunblock it’s bad the babies and adults.

Oh and at six months they can take swimming lessons definitely need to do that if you love being by the water. My daughter is now 7 months and will be taking swimming lessons soon when the class had openings

Megan you were asking this question

We just took our daughter for the the first time a few weeks ago at 8 months old and she loved it. We waited cause she was born in September last year and was only 5 pounds. We also live in Wisconsin so swimming during the winter isn’t a fun thing even at motel pools.

I took my son to the beach at 7 weeks :person_shrugging:

He didn’t get in the water and didn’t lay in the sand. Wasn’t there long, maybe 2 hours tops.

My family was in town and we always visit the beach when they are here.

Lol took my 6 week old to a splash pad with my 2 n half year old. :woman_shrugging:

My son enjoyed the beach with us at 2 months old. Just gotta be prepared momma.

Two months is okay but make sure that you have sunglasses, hat and a baby wetsuit that covers his body so that he doesnt get sunburned because they cant have sunscreen this early

My son is 6 weeks old and we bring him everywhere with us. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old that I can’t keep cooped up in the house all the time. My newborn has been to the beach 3 times already, the trampoline park, the playground… just make sure you keep the baby in the shade and in a sun hat. The reeeally thin swaddle blankets are awesome. Remember he is too young for sunblock and have fun!!

By the time my son was 3 months old he had been to every lake/river near us. Can’t keep him out of the water now at 9yrs old

The day you brought Savannah home

I say you can as long as you take proper precautions like keeping the baby covered since it is too early for sunscreen. Can’t keep your other child cooped up all summer.

My daughter was in the pool as soon as her stump fell off.

6 months for my daughter but that was just because she was born in December. With my son as soon as I healed from the c-section we were swimming. But both my kids have always loved water. And have always been great swimmers.

My youngest was at orange beach when he was 3wks old :person_shrugging:

I took my daughter to the pool prob about 6 months. Really whenever they are able to sit up pretty well I guess. She liked to splish splash.

As long as baby’s cord stump has fallen off and belly button is healed, anytime is fine!

I took my oldest when she was just 2-3 months old but, we mostly just sat in the shade and dipped her toes every once in a while

Whenever you want. Me personally, we only went in pools until he was like 2. I was afraid of all the yucky lake water going in his mouth but now he’s good about not drinking the water lol
