When did you start buying maternity clothes? I’m almost 13 weeks. I don’t feel like my regular clothes aren’t fitting me yet, but I want to be prepared when the time comes. I also have no idea how to tell what size I’d be. I’m usually 8/10 in pants or medium. But I’ve lost 15 lbs so far and might be smaller. Honestly not sure. Did you just wait until stuff didn’t fit to start buying?
I was around 13 weeks when I started as well
The moment I felt uncomfortable THEE moment
I just got a couple pairs of leggings in bigger sizes and some baggy tops lol I wasn’t concerned with fashionable outfits lol but you can just go and get something in the next size up for now
I just bought flowy dresses and shirts that I could also wear after birth (and be easy for breastfeeding) and stretchy pants in my normal size. By the end of my pregnancy they were getting slightly snug, but still wearable.
I never bought them with any of my 3 pregnancies. Just wore leggings.
Just get a few pairs of leggings with flowy shirts. And a few pairs of sweat pants. Maternity clothes aren’t necessary, but elastic is
Go with leggings with pockets and tunic/ long shirts so you can wear post partum
I would start buying now. Go up a size as you will grow into them. If you normally wear a medium go with larges. If you normally wear a large go extra large. This way part way thru you don’t have to buy more. I also liked the full belly pants over the ones that were lower cut. Gave my belly support as I got bigger
First pregnancy, I didn’t at all. Second pregnancy, early second trimester. Third pregnancy, like 8 weeks. There was 9 months between second and third, so I started showing early.
I don’t gain much. I lost everywhere and it just moved to my belly. So I went from L to Large maternity. I also wore high waisted leggings a lot.
I didn’t with 2 of the 3 kid’s. With 1 I needed a few pairs of shorts. I would wait till things start getting tight. Or buy a few cute shirts etc. Such a waste of month to buy a lot.
Honestly I feel maternity clothes are a waste of money, with the exception of that one pair of pants we all fall in love with and use forever. Other than that though I just wore yoga pants and loose shirts. Things I could wear after I had the baby too.
If you feel you need more room or will soon you better start experimenting with your preferences now. That way you won’t be stressing about it when you actually need to know.
Wait until your current clothes start getting tight or uncomfortable
As for sizing go try them on
Don’t waste $ on maternity clothes
I just sized up in leggings and rocked a lot of cute stretchy dresses
Get a few things now such as leggings etc…
You will suddenly need them! Also buy some a size up. ( the fall children’s consignment sales And children’s resale shops often sell maternity)
Leggings and drawstring pants will be a godsend and wayy cheaper until you for sure dont fit
I had a couple items larger to start and bought when needed. I was able to get a couple extra months out of pants just by looping a thick hair tie through button hole and around button. No need to waste money that could be used later for needed items.
I waited until I needed them then went to a maternity store to try stuff on to see what size and fit I needed
I just waited. I used the hairball trick for as long as I could. I also am a medium and I used medium maternity clothes.
I only wore maternity clothes with my first. With my other two I didn’t get too big and just wore stretchy pants
I had to start wearing leggings and stuff when I was about 6 weeks with my daughter. She was so far down, my normal jeans wouldn’t fit. Honestly, I didn’t even buy maternity clothes per se, just sized up in normal clothing. I did have to size up a lot in bras and got nursing ones
So I seriously wore the same clothes I did get a belly band and used a hair tie for my jeans haha but most I just wore I got like three T-shirt’s and a nice pair of maternity leggings that go way up the extra support on your heavy belly makes a world of difference
I waited on pants until the rubber band trick didn’t work anymore and was to uncomfortable, my exhusbands shirts didn’t fit or I needed holiday shirts but bras were immediate.
I bought all my maternity clothes around 6 months. I bought the same size I was in and they fit great! I have big babies too.
I just brought stuff with elastic waists and looser in the stomach so then I could wear it even when not pregnant
I found I was really uncomfortable at eight weeks because I was carrying far forward so I bought maternity clothes then. I ended up needing an entirely new set of maternity clothes by six months as I’d outgrown the first lot. Go for the stretchy things. My adjustable jeans and trousers were useful post-partum though.
I could fit in my regular clothes until 6 months. My baby was 8lb 5 ozs lol
I never wore maternity clothing. I just put my waste bands under my belly
I didn’t it’s so expensive that I said f* it, and just wore my longer tank tops to cover my unbuttoned bottoms
1st-32 weeks, 2nd-15 weeks, 3rd-right away
I never bought anything maternity for any of my 3 pregnancies. After 7.5 months I just wore leggings & comfy sweaters & tees.
When you need them. Everyone is different. My babies were small, so I never needed to size up. If you aren’t comfortable buy them
