When do you all exercise? I live in the PNW and I leave my house at 6:30 am for work, but it looks like midnight outside it’s cold and dark and I don’t want to get out of bed. What’s everyone’s motivation?
Have everything ready the night before… even if you put some cloths on. Have your pre workout/ water / correct shoes / all there… wake up… mix your pre workout… brush your teeth wash your face drink your pre workout on the way to the gym. grab your stuff and go!!! Don’t look back…
I’d go to the gym after the kids were in bed. Also, do something fun so it’s not drudgery. I’m taking dance classes (Broadway & African) with kind and encouraging teachers. Take a fun class instead of doing exercises unless you like that.
Sometimes it helps that you’ve paid for something, the people in class have become friends, others miss you when you’re not there, and it’s only once (or more) a week at the same time so it becomes a habit.
I am so NOT a morning person but I got a rowing machine and would fall out of bed onto it after my alarm rang and start rowing until my eyes opened and my blood was flowing better. . It was also good for diffusing anger & frustration; I’d just go up and row like mad until I was exhausted and no longer mad.
